    Taylor put us some sick numbers at Dunedin in 2014. 4.38 K/BB on a 11.3 K/9 but he was also old for the level, (24). His AA numbers have been a lot more pedestrian and he's 26 now so he can probably be safely written off.

    Taylor Cole's kind of a forgotten man now.

    Chavez this year and Estrada last year are similar assets and in fact Chavez is coming off a better season than Estrada was. That being said, Lind last year and Hendriks this year are very different assets. The trades aren't really all that comparable.

    Yeah seems like there was a mis-reading of the market. Hendriks' skills are more highly valued right now. That being said SP depth shouldn't be taken for granted either, just look at the Dodgers.

    Favorite to close for the Philies. He was listed as one of the top three most added players in Yahoo! yesterday and is there again today.

    I was tempted to make a joke about senility/dementia here but there's so much of that in my wife's family that I can't do it. Hits too close to home.

    It was pretty dumb for him to even be on waivers. He pitched a handful of innings in 2015.

    And you didn't even mention his age. He's 33 year old. He's basically trying to ring out whatever he can from his career and as you mentioned, earn another paycheck next year. Otherwise, he might be flat out done. Neither he nor the team would benefit from treating him with kid gloves. There's no development here. He either still has something to offer or he doesn't.

    Smart play by Spanky to claim Andrew Bailey. He's really fortified his bullpen in the past 48 hours or so. I was tempted to make a claim myself but I didn't want to burn the #1 waiver on a yet to be declared Phillies closer. I'm assuming I can burn that on Yasiel Sierra whenever Yahoo! adds him.

    He's a seductive kind of suxxxx though. Never really impressive but he steadily improves at every level and he's still only college age. Not hard to see why a s***** team like the Phillies would take a flyer on him.

    When we started this league, I was in favour of only having players with MLB action in the universe. The random, arbitrary way Yahoo adds players to it's player universe is infuriating. Back when we did the waiver draft, Tyler Goeddel wasn't in the universe so I figured they would wait until his first game. Nope. Just noticed that (insert clever name) added him off waivers on march 11. Good on him but this system is really annoying (and no I wouldn't have used my 1st overall priority on him so it's moot from that perspective but it's just weird and annoying to feel like a player could pop up in waivers at any random time).

    That could very well be true. There's a pretty good possibility Bruce suck ass this year which would also make the front office look stupid (and damn lucky it didn't go through).

    Saunders might make the team look pretty stupid for wanting Jay Bruce. It's way too early for that of course but one can dream.

    I have beem getting complaints about this thread. Personally, I think it's an innocuous piece of juvenilia that hardly deserves mod attention but I'll lock it down so that it stops getting bumped.
