  1. That's nice of you. Many of the homeless here are very aggressive. They don't really ask for money but demand it. I do think it has to due with the mental illness aspect of it. When my brother and I visited Vancouver we were absolutely flabbergasted with the amount of homeless people that were there. I think what surprised us more was how pleasant and nice they all were. Here in Philly many follow you and yell at you if you don't give them change, but they didn't do that there.
  2. Many of the homeless in Philly are older people who lost their homes when their mental institutions were shut down in the '80s. Thanks Reagen.
  3. My head just got trolled
  4. Now when I see homeless people I'm going to think they are #5 starters.
  5. Seems like a good signing. Hopefully a guy just to keep Buffalo competitive but not a horrible guy to have around if someone goes down.
  6. Are Hurl story times as good in real life as they are over the internetz?
  7. Why anyone would call a 21 year old a bust is beyond me. Bats would have been considered a bust if you judged him by his age 20 season.
  8. Story time with Hurl!
  9. I'm sure out of all the Buffalo starters he'd probably be the last one promoted. Although, if it was one of those Laffey situations though where we only needed a replacement starter for one start I could see him being called up. I can't imagine anyone would claim him after being demoted the next day.
  10. Dickey is valuable. He's not the #1 that everyone wants but the (mostly) quality innings he gives us are incredibly valuable to the team.
  11. I could see it. It seems like catching is always in need and I could see a team picking him up as depth.
  12. In a way I kinda feel bad for the guy. He's obviously one of the best position players in the league and I don't really think that he was asking for too much. However, it's nice to have the savings and hopefully we can use it either over the offseason or at the deadline to improve the 25 man roster.
  13. If those bullpen arms are essentially interchangeable than it doesn't really matter if one of them goes down.
  14. I'd like to bring McGowan back as a strict reliever. It seemed that they were trying to keep him stretched out, which made his arm explode.
  15. If I remember correctly McGowan had incredible stuff. The brass probably thought that he was worth more trouble trying to keep than Perez.
  16. I agree. Where would we have been the past couple of years if we didn't have decent inning eaters like Dickey and Buehrle on the team? People bitch about not having enough pitching depth but having 2 guys who put up dependable 200 innings is huge and is part of that depth.
  17. They are going with one guy who is up there with JPA in terms of the bat, a guy who hasn't played above A ball, just to wait for a guy who is horribly defensively and strikes out at a ridiculous rate. Ugh.
  18. The lack of catching in Arizona makes me sad that AA hasn't shipped them Navarro yet for something useful.
  19. d'Arnaud is obviously incredibly talented. Hopefully he can stay healthy enough to stay at catcher because he isn't nearly as valuable elsewhere on the field.
  20. He's probably the biggest bust in the history of Jays first round picks.
  21. I use creatine beforehand and whey protein afterwards, that's it. I know there are a lot of supplements out there but in my opinion you don't really need them. Just work hard with your routine and keep adding weight, miles, resistance, etc and you'll see your results.
  22. Very true. I think a lot of guys misunderstand that cardio is absolutely needed to lose weight and be healthy. I don't know how many times I see my little brother, who lifts all the time, struggling for breath after running just half a mile with me.
  23. When I was in high school I eliminated all soda from my diet, which was mostly diet sodas, and lost 20 pounds in two months. That was it, didn't change anything else. A friend of mine was on the Atkins diet with his parents around the same time and lost over 100 pounds but couldn't lose the final 10 that was his goal. He was like you Hurl, he would drink (diet) sodas out of boredom and it was okay on Atkins because they are all 0 calorie.
