  1. This will be the first time since the 6 division format started in 1994 that 4 teams from the same division win 90+ games and only the second time in MLB history (happened in 1978 with 7 teams in the AL East). I will argue that the 2021 AL East is the best division in MLB history. Crazy to think a team with 91 wins might miss the playoffs, hopefully not the Jays. https://baseballcloud.blog/2021/09/24/divisional-diversity-4-90-win-teams-2-100-win-teams-0-90-win-teams/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=divisional-diversity-4-90-win-teams-2-100-win-teams-0-90-win-teams
  2. Red Sox literally trying to give this game away, come on Nats gotta score here!
  3. I believe this is the first time in franchise history we have 4 players with 100 RBIs or more in one season!
  4. Can't blame Richards there. How the f*** did he even hit that out? Down and in out of the zone
  5. Much prefer the baseball format where only the elite teams make the post season. Was a complete joke last year that the Habs made the Stanley Cup finals literally only because they had a hot goalie. I think the current setup is a good balance, the only thing is I wouldn't mind the wild card being a best 2/3 instead of winner take all. The new wild card format is much better then under the 1 WC system we had before, gives more importance to winning your division.
  6. Not really! It's true most Americans don't give a s*** about others and are selfish. Have a look at the covid deaths in the US compared to Canada or any other country around the world for that matter. The numbers don't lie.
  7. I had no problem with Borucki doing that in this situation. The game was already out of reach. KK is a douchebag, glad he got plunked. Borucki did it the right way, didn't throw at his head but definitely got the message across. He gets maybe 2 games max, if he even gets suspended at all.
  8. I actually wouldn't mind playing @ Fenway. We seem to always play well there and less pressure the being at home. Though would be awesome to see the electricity at the RC for a Wild Card game.
  9. In order for the Jays to catch Tampa, we need to go 15-3 the rest of the way and take 5 of 6 from the Rays. Sweep current series vs Rays Sweep Twins Take 2 of 3 @ Rays Take 3 of 4 @ Twins Take 2 of 3 vs Yanks Sweep Baltimore I honestly don't think this is that far fetched. That would give us 96 wins. Tampa also finishes with 2 tough series on the road in Houston and New York.
  10. We go from 6 innings without a hit, to 6 hits in a row in the 7th. Crazy game I tell ya! About time the luck starts falling our way!
  11. That pitch was basically centre cut, how was that called a ball, unbelievable!
  12. What Jays need to do going forward to make WC, still have a legit shot at 1st WC spot. Take 3 of 4 @ Yanks Take 3 of 4 @ Os Take 2 of 3 vs Rays Take 3 of 3 vs Twins Take 1 of 3 @ Rays Take 3 of 4 @ Twins Take 2 of 3 vs Yanks Take 3 of 3 vs Os 20-7 record This would give us 94 wins and likely the 1st WC spot and a home game. I honestly think this is very plausible. We could even afford another loss or 2 and still make a WC spot.
  13. Boys are really taking advantage of that short porch today! Most of those Hrs would of been fly outs anywhere else.
  14. A win for the ages! Unbelievable! I didn't think it was possible for anyone to have a more trash bullpen then the Jays, but the A's proved me wrong!
  15. With 50 games remaining, the Jays have a decent schedule going forward. 25 games against below .500, including 10 vs the Os and 7 vs Twins. If they can play .700 ball vs them and .500 vs the rest, they have a good shot at a wild spot. Play .600 ball against TB, NYY and OAK and they have a shot to win the division.
  16. Up 9-0, wtf is Grichuk doing there tagging up at 1st? Someone is getting beaned next inning.
  17. If the Jays sweep the Os and the Marlins can take 2 of the 3 from the Yankees, Jays will get 2nd seed and finish 5th overall in AL seeding. Assuming the scenario above happens Jays and Yanks would finish tied with identical 33-27 records. 1st Tiebreaker - Head to Head (5-5) 2nd Tiebreaker - Intradivsion record both teams identical at 23-17 3rd Tiebreaker - Intradivison record over last 20 games (Jays 12-8) (Yankees 11-9) Marlins are fighting for their playoff lives so I can see them taking 2 of 3. Don't want to play Rays in wild card, much rather face the Twins, White Sox or Indians
  18. If Jays and Yanks finish season tied who finishes 2nd in the division? They are even 5-5 in the season series. What's next tiebreaker?
  19. Well this thread didn't age well 😂😂
  20. Anyone know what the MLB record is for runs allowed over a 3 game series, can't seem to find it anywhere. I would imagine 43 runs has to be at least a Franchise record, wonder what the MLB record is?
  21. What's with the weird schedule anomaly vs Boston. 2 game series spread out over 3 days with day off in between games? Weird!?
  22. What's Bauer''s best pitch??? The split finger fastball 😂😂
  23. http://www.12up.com/posts/3894715-al-might-have-made-key-mistake-in-wild-card-game-setup?a_aid=40734 Gary Cederstrom behind the plate tonight. Has a notoriously tight zone. Does this favour the Jays or Os??
  24. I would imagine it will be Tillman. He's been their most consistent starter all year. Outside chance they could start Jiminez. He's been lights out lately and has had success against the Jays.
  25. I'd go with Lariano. Baltimore is terrible vs Lefties and Larioano has had success in the postseason and has the experience. Lariano is 1-0 with a 3.48 ERA in 3 postseason starts including a wild card game win with the Pirates in 2013. It's a no brainer IMO.
