  1. You can also get tarred and feathered for liking the Blue Jays
  2. It wasn't out of the strike zone though. Perfect pitch really.
  3. Looked out on initial play. Replay doesn't look conclusive enough to overturn
  4. It is interesting though that our starters have been relatively worse than the relievers 17th in reliever WAR 26th in starter WAR
  5. I did a look back at the bullpen's preseason projections for everyone who has pitched 20 or more innings this year. None of them were projected to be good, Rodriguez and Hoffman projected to be average. The rest were replacement level or very close to it. Varland should be average or a bit better based on projections, but he hasn't been. Probably because they messed with his pitch mix. Little and Fisher exceeded expectations, but a lot of the rest of the pen hasn't. So it's kind of a wash.
  6. Probably not, Walker is a DUI hire Which means all the way down theres probably no accountability
  7. No one but he gets an infinite leash because our fans don't know what good pitching is. The lineup should always score more runs
  8. It is weird how pretty much every bullpen pitcher has regressed super hard this year. Makes you wonder if we're doing something wrong organizationally
  9. There's a point where you just have to say our bullpen is terrible. We're late enough in the season that it's not a small sample size anymore. When I watch them I feel like the other team should be scoring more runs, not less.
  10. It's really depressing to have a top 2 lineup and a bottom 5 bullpen
  11. What? The offence has been great in August, 130 wrC+ It's been absolutely awful pitching that's been sinking us.
  12. Look at these walk rates for August, other than Nance. Even worse than I imagined
  13. It's weird how like all our relievers come out and can barely throw a single strike over the plate. A lot of it is the walks and getting behind in counts. Doesn't seem to be overuse, they're sitting on 50-60 IP which is typical for other teams relievers at this point in the season. Our SP isn't amazing but at least they aren't getting blown out most games.
  14. Every team with an ERA worse than the Jays is way below .500. Our pitching just isn't very good
  15. Trying to be optimistic but pitching is going to be the death of us come playoffs
  16. I'm more bullish on Bo's hitting not regressing too badly. However, I think his days as SS are done. He's literally bottom of the league for OAA (-10). So where would Bo fit on this lineup? I would say DH because bad range isn't going to play a lot better at 2B/3B imo. But the problem is, Springer should move from RF to DH next year as his defense has also regressed very badly.
  17. Yea I think he needs to go to 70% FB 30% k-curve. His FB is really good
  18. yea I also prefer 4 divisions with 8 teams each. 8 wildcards, 4 div winners. Wildcards face each other round 1, then div winners in round 2, etc.
