  1. Yea lol when the projection is all 3 wildcards will come out of the AL East. It would have happened in 2025 if Baltimore didn't underperform so badly
  2. The way I look at it, teams like the Jays and Phillies made the other teams overpay. That's not always such a bad thing.
  3. I'm trying to remember where the Jays ranked in projected WAR during the last offseason. We certainly weren't 3rd in the league. It's kind of insane how far ahead the Dodgers are over everyone though... 7 wins over the Yankees is mindblowing
  4. Given what Bo got, he's probably going to get like 5/200. Teams are getting pretty spendy now
  5. Revenue sharing already looks pretty significant in MLB? Something like 200M per team, is that really true? It seems the issue is teams not spending their revenue sharing. They should lose every dollar that they don't spend on salaries, IMO. If they did I'm not sure you'd really even need a luxury tax.
  6. Yea I'm not worried about not getting a bat. I really hope we can get one more decent RP though. Our pen still only projects to be average-ish
  7. Really seems like it. I wonder if anyone can do a breakdown but it feels like hardly anyone has been signed for their age 36+ seasons.
  8. They're a few years older though. Age matters a lot for the final contract
  9. What do people think Bo is going to get now? I'm thinking Jays give him 8/250 Not sure why, that's probably an overpay too
  10. 240/4 is literally bonkers.
  11. The playoffs will be very easy to make
  12. I feel like upgrading the pen might be the best value. 3.9 WAR isn't exactly great.
  13. Looking at Manoah's peripherals it is kind of a weird case. Like he got very lucky in early years then very unlucky towards the end. His velocity didn't actually drop all that much. Command was really bad in 2023, though. 2024 peripherals were back to 2021-22 levels. I guess if you get injured, that's kinda the end though regardless of prior results.
  14. Aren't the teams doing deferrals mostly so players can avoid income taxes? Therefore increasing a player's take-home pay without costing the team anything in the long run. I didn't think it had much to do with the CBT as that all accounts for NPV. I feel like the tax loopholes will be closed though, over the next few years. Governments don't like not getting their tax share.
  15. Yea Bo is a huge up at 2B still. Fingers crossed. I think the team will give him a fair offer but it feels like others could throw him a lot more $$$
  16. Seems there is a Japanese Statcast but it's all paywalled :/ https://1point02.jp/op/index.aspx
  17. The Steamer projection I don't get is Rogers at 0.2 WAR. What's that about?
  18. Jeff Passan reporting it on X Let's book that sushi party
  19. It really is a lot of words to say nothing I'd be surprised if the Jays don't get a bat, tbh But they've already filled the main need which was pitching, so things are looking great
  20. Anyone have a link to the interview? Sounds interesting
  21. Speak for yourselves, I'm very perverted and degenerate. Happy 2026! 38 days till Spring Training!
  22. Yea people forget there's value in locking in a top player as far as getting more top players. Jays might not have gotten Ponce and Rogers otherwise. We can't know for sure, of course.
  23. It's all Rogers monopoly money
  24. Yea relievers are volatile but if you strike a gem they can be like 2 WAR. Interesting that the best teams get 6-8 WAR out of their entire bullpen. I'd have assumed a lot more, when you consider like 1 superstar hitter gets that.
