  1. Alright 2nd time through against Ferris Beuhler. Time to score some runs.
  2. Bo has got to be the slowest leadoff hitting short stop of all time lol
  3. Buehler is going to be some good hittin' today
  4. The Rays look like dog shite right now. Lost 11-1 to the Angels and are now 5-7 on the season. Orioles having some issues too. And so are a lot of the teams that were expected to compete for the WC. Teams like the Mariners, Astros, Twins, etc. are all of to slow start.
  5. Players who pinch hit later in the game have to warm up, hit in the cage, field balls, etc.? Seems like a lot of that could be ramped down.
  6. MLB gave us an insane early schedule so I'm sure it's just them trying to keep guys fresh. We are in the midst of what is essentially a 13 game road trip (just the final 3 games are at home) with no days off
  7. Vlad not in the lineup today Queue the whining
  8. They are soooooowly coming around but the Orioles fanboys just can’t quite come to grips with the state of the franchise can they? 😂
  9. Bassitt vs. a cooked Walker Beuhler tomorrow Get the brooms out boys
  10. I think the slide was to avoid running into the wall, not so much to make the catch
  11. Damn nice play for a guy like Santander lol
  12. DH ABs for Wagner will dry up with Varsho taking an OF spot and Santander moving to DH. So I think Clement probably goes into what will be close to a strict platoon with Wagner at 3B. Defensive replacement too.
  13. 5 and counting now. Houck is notoriously difficult on righties and fairly pedestrian against lefties. The odds of Straw getting a hit off Houck is not great. It's a terrible matchup. Springer just had to miss a game for back spasms, he's old, it's freezing cold, and we don't have an off day left on this road trip. It's not ideal but it is what it is. To add, Lukes isn't that bad. He projects better than Straw does anyway and especially against righties, defense included. Take a chill pill sir. :)
  14. You're right. Three posts and counting already in the first inning on the topic.
  15. I think this is the direction things are headed. Ed Rogers is hellbent on building a winner. They’re revamping everything and trying to become a self-sustaining powerhouse like the Dodgers. Payroll keeps going up, and we're in on every free agent. They'll probably try to sign Tucker and some big name pitchers. The Phillies are probably a good example but potentially even bigger. They added tons of big name FAs in just a couple years. Not quite Mets or Dodgers spending, but they've passed the Yankees in spending and the Jays might do the same. Plus, money’s coming off the books and Vlad’s AAV barely increases payroll. They’re going to keep spending big I guarantee it.
  16. Yankees barely avoided a sweep against the Tigers by yanking Devin Williams before he blew the game Tonight's game is suddenly a must-win or we drop into a tie for 2nd.
  17. Probably not much affect. I think the pressure to win is still there, and maybe moreso, but it's also easier to win in the short term with Vlad back in the fold on an AAV that isn't much higher than what he was making.
  18. Yeah as long as Rogers doesn't change course the signing should be okay. Rogers likely understands the risks and overruled Shapiro and Atkins for marketing and media reasons. Those reasons could make perfect sense since they have a sports network that heavily features the team. But 14 years is a long time for a corporation to hold firm in one direction, particularly when that direction revolves around a mega payroll for their baseball team.
  19. Donaldson and Martin just won their case against them. CRA is appealing but it's a good sign for Vlad and other Blue Jays moving forward.
  20. Right and then they can still play around with the remaining 15 mil or whatever it is per year if there is a work stoppage? Probably not that big of a deal.
