  1. Lol a little harsh Chap but I agree. The board has in recent weeks has taken a big step in moving on from the 2013 offseason and that's a very good thing.
  2. Not that I disagree with that except for the playoff comment! This team has a great chance to make the playoffs IMO.
  3. Eek, Kawasaki vs. LHP is bad. I'd rather take the hit on defense and have EE play it vs. LHP.
  4. Bautista is just out a couple of days and likely will avoid the DL per the stuff I've seen on twitter. That's great news. But what do we do at 3B now? Especially vs. LHP? Dare I say EE at 3B in those situations?
  5. It's not so much whether he plays tonight or not but him being hopeful that he was going to play is somewhat encouraging news. Further to that, just b/c he's not in the lineup doesn't mean he can't pinch hit.
  6. For what it's worth...
  7. No one is really sure what is up with him until we hear word on the MRI results. Hopefully it's not too serious.
  8. Lind to DL. Lawrie fulltime 3B. Muni/Tolleson platoon at 2B. Francisco/Navarro platoon at DH. Kratz/Navarro/Thole splitting the C duties.
  9. Yeah I agree, east. This is more significant than AA's usual AAA signings. I fully expect him to pitch with the big league team and there's a good chance he pitches well. I also agree with your thoughts on Gibby handling him well because he understands splits as well as any manager in the league.
  10. http://www.fangraphs.com/coolstandings.aspx?type=2&lg= Currently have a 75% to win the division.
  11. His ability to play 2B and 3B has solved this team's 2B AND to a large extent our bench problems.
  12. Lol @ two saves for Janssen on 4 pitches this series.
  13. Even when we nearly have a 70% chance of winning the division? I don't think now is the time to sell. http://www.fangraphs.com/coolstandings.aspx?type=2&lg= Also, the contract on all of these trades lined up nicely as they expire after next year. So even though some of these guys are old, their contracts expire soon and it will give us some payroll flexibility moving forward.
  14. Yeah I agree, it is too early. But a lot of the guys that were traded away have seen their value decrease since the 2013 offseason. Some of them significantly.
  15. It will also be less painful should the guys given up fail to pan out, which may be the case for a lot of them. Right now, it looks like AA gave up a lot of fool's gold.
  16. Yeah he will be the one that we miss the most for sure. Actually, he may be the only one.
  17. You'd think this board would be rocking with activity seeing as we're 4.5 games up in June but it seems a little stagnant lately. The majority of the posts were always negative and referred back to the 2013 offseason (and subsequently the lack of movement in the 2014 offseason). When we were losing in 2013 the negative posts just piled on and heck, all the negative posts were probably warranted. Now that posting negative when so much good is happening just doesn't fit the narrative right now, it's as if those same posters don't care to write much anymore. I hate to say it, but if the team starts losing again perhaps we'd see an increase in activity? And I'm not even talking about Rays fans, you can't really blame them for not posting a lot on a Jays board when their team is in the toilet. Just all the posts with a negative tone just don't really fit in to what's going on with the team right now and rather than post something other than what was once considered a "disastrous" 2013 offseason or Yunel Escobar or the RA Dickey trade which happened two offseasons ago the posts have just dried up. Hopefully that changes.
  18. Junior college players are, but yeah I don't think that's what he meant.
  19. The Rays Fanboys, outside of Hurl, haven't been posting much lately...
  20. I'm not sure either were epic failures. What guy that we gave up are we actually going to really miss? Someone might step up but right now you can't definitively say that we made a major screw up.
  21. There needs to be a "yes" option. I'd def let them back in to the fold although there needs to be some sort of apology or something.
  22. Redmond isn't pitching that bad though. I'd rather have him than Korecky.
