I'd offer Saunders the QO and wouldn't feel bad one bit if he took it (although missing out on the pick wouldn't be ideal). The AAV might be a bit steep but it's only one year. We will need to fill out the lineup next season and the FA class sucks. -

To put it in subjective numbers, in football they have to be 99% sure to overturn a call. In baseball if they are 75% sure they sometimes overturn it.

They should be able to recoup that in minor league ticket sales.

I thought he was out but if that's the definitive angle they used I'm not so sure that it should have been overturned. You can't even see wear Saunders' foot touches the bag because the view is obstructed by Teixera.

We've got outstanding pitching matchups against Boston and the series is at home where we have a 40-28 record (Boston is 37-31 on the road). Estrada vs. Porcello Happ vs. Rodriguez Sanchez vs. Buchholz

Yeah I don't think this slump will continue much longer but those 6 games put them in a dogfight for the WC spots when they were a decent bet to win the division. Pretty frustrating. It's good to get an off day and then head home. The Dome is going to be LIT for this Sox series. Winning 2 of 3 would be a good reset and would tie things up heading in to the final 3 weeks.

We are 4th in the AL in runs scored and 7th in all of baseball.

I mean sort of. They take 2 of 3 and they'll be tied with the Sox.

We went from favorites to repeat as AL East champs to underdogs in 6 games and the Sox aren't even playing that well. This team needs to get it together fast. I don't think they've been swept in months until tonight.

No not at all. That's what I've been trying to say since last night. It's September and whatever leads we had are essentially gone. I'm not someone to normally hit the panic button but we are staring down a 1-5 slide in September right now. That's not good. We find ourselves down by 3 games or more to Boston at any point this month and the division is pretty much gone.

I hear what you're saying but this isn't June. We can relax but this 1-4 stretch which could turn to 1-5 soon is just short of a disaster.

Just repeatedly losing to beatable teams and hittable pitchers right as we enter the stretch run. This game ain't over yet nor is the season but this road trip has been incredibly frustrating.
