  1. That one stings. These guys need to get it together asap.
  2. Man, Pillar looked horrible there. Swung at s*** and let the one right down the middle go.
  3. Lol that spawned about 2 dozen comments about Smoak.
  4. He has to be getting tired. His control is going to s***. Maybe he'll walk one or two in.
  5. Gotta love expanded rosters....pinch runners for everybody
  6. 2 strikes might be a good time for Zeke to steal
  7. Seems like they were playing him pretty shallow, no?
  8. I don't mind the #9 hitter being better than the #8 hitter, but the #9 hitter should in no way be better than the #7 hitter.
  9. Down here in the States hockey is rarely covered but for Barry Melrose being given about 2 minutes a night on Sportscenter, as I'm sure you all know. I like going to an Avs game every so often but don't really know much else about it. I know Roy just quit, Sakic is the GM and Matt Duchene is our best player - that's about it. It's a great game live, really exciting. On TV though I find it to kind of be a bore.
  10. Thole is actually pretty damn good at catching the knuckleball. Hanigan catches Wright and he's been far worse at it. That said, find a backup C that can catch the knuckleball somewhat acceptably. It shouldn't be that hard to to replace Thole. They aren't glued together, Thole catches him more out of convenience more than anything else.
  11. Oh for sure. The guy is as close to automatically producing surplus value as anybody in the game.
  12. Extend Dickey. His performance has been worse this season but all that means is that he'll command less. He's still been useful and the "Dickey Effect" means he's worth more than meets the eye. Bring him back as the long man.
  13. Same here too. I'm pretty even- keeled throughout the season but the feelings I was getting in the playoffs last year are starting to come back. All our games last year during the playoffs were during the day and I quit eating lunch because I had no appetite - too nervous. After we lost to the Royals it stung for about an hour but a night at the bar took the sting out of it. Like you said, it's just entertainment.
  14. Yeah I'd tweak the order some but Bautista at DH, Upton in the OF and Smoak on the bench is the right setup.
  15. Looked pretty s***** in the minors. Hopefully that continues tonight.
  16. He's just a huge dork isn't he? I've actually grown to respect him a little bit. He gets a lot of s*** but he handles it with class.
  17. Tampa isn't square in the bullseye but they are definitely at risk. http://media.nbcmiami.com/images/1200*675/090116+hurricane+hermine+1.jpg Let's play these games in TO!
  18. I don't know if the hurricane is going to affect these games in Tampa or not. They obviously have a dome so the actual play wouldn't be affected but travel could be.
  19. For a while there he looked he would be another Biagini for us.
  20. I don't trust Cecil at all right now but you're right, he's got the talent to become nails again. We could really use him down the stretch.
  21. So based upon a 1-10 scale where 10 is trusting that reliever to babysit my yet to be conceived (as far as I know anyway) first born child and 1 is I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them here is what I'm thinking. Osuna - 10 Grilli - 9 Biagini - 9 Barnes - 4 Benoit - 4 Feldman - 3 Loup- 3 Cecil - 1 Tepera - 1 That's pretty damn subjective but if Cecil came in to a tight late inning playoff game I'd probably be s***ing my pants the whole time he's out there.
