Gyvens just went HAM on us for 1.2 innings. Utterly dominant against the top of the lineup. 5 outs against 4 batters and struck out two. -

Liriano piggybacking Stroman wasn't even an option. Now here we go, Stroman is terrible 3rd time through.

Yeah I mean it should have been an out. The ball took a good hop and Bourn got it in quick. Saunders is slow as s***. I think he read it ok just a s*** circumstance for him as a runner.

I read on twitter that Biagini is warming in case he needs to come in mid-inning. Liriano would come in at the beginning of an inning. Not sure if that's just spitballing or what.

It was kind of like a fielding slump is all imo. Or a 3 week case of the yips. He's usually very good I agree.

Well the gut says go Liriano (his case is built upon mostly hot hand theory and non-regressed splits) and the analytics say go with Stroman so he came to the same conclusion but for a different reason in my opinion.

I think Bautista is a better defender than Saunders. Saunders is just brutal. So is Bautista but he has made some alright plays lately, particularly while running back toward the wall. Late in the game it could present a problem with substituting Bautista out like everyone said but I think the small upgrade at defense is worth it.

You have no idea if that's true or not. The analytics department could have suggested Stroman.

Not sure if anyone has posted the lineup yet but there it is. No surprised other than Bautista playing the field and Saunders DHing which I mentioned as preferring yesterday.

It appears that it was a collaborative franchise decision. FO and the analytics department were also involved.

Vegas has us a pretty steady favorite. If they all truly believe that with such consensus they should be betting the hell out of the game.
