  1. I've been on his nuts for a while so I'd just outbid everyone on a two year deal and tell him that he'd be playing full time as an OF/1B for a contending team in a cool city with a packed stadium. The Jays ST facilities are about an hour from where he grew up too. I'd throw in a team option with a buyout (to up the total value) on the third even. I don't think it'd cost this much but I'd give him 2 years/24 mill plus an option with a 2 mil buyout or something like that if that is what it takes. If we want him I think we could definitely get him.
  2. They could just sign Pearce to play LF or RF and then platoon Upton and Pompey in the other spot. Pompey is a switch-hitter but almost every year in the minors his splits favor him against right-handed pitching.
  3. I was once a huge proponent of it but his second half has been atrocious. I'd rather let him walk and use that money on bringing in other players and resigning Bautista.
  4. Oh ok I stepped away and didn't see it. Thanks
  5. What did Jose do?
  6. lol that was awesome
  7. Remember when Michael Saunders was an All-Star? lol
  8. Very tough play but overall the O's D has been really bad this series.
  9. Please don't soil Frank Catalanotto's good name like that.
  10. LOL come on Zeke you've got to find a way to stay on base there.
  11. That seemed like an incredibly short fly ball for him to score so easily on.
  12. Well there you go guys, Zeke just solidified himself as the starting LF and leadoff hitter for the playoffs in Gibbons' mind all because of defensive screwups.
  13. "That's what happens with SPEEEeeEED in the lineup."
  14. Gotta love Leiper. That guy gets more excited for hits than the actual players.
  15. Yeah I hear ya Grant. I'd wait as well but in the end I don't think I'd do it. Assuming he plays like an MVP candidate the next two seasons like he has the last two what would an extension even cost? 7 years taking him through age 40? yuck
  16. We have Donaldson for two more years, then he'll be 33 when he's finally a FA. I'd be leery to lock him up to a fat extension as well.
  17. I think I agree. A bullpen game from the O's could be scary but facing Verlander and the Tigers lineup would be no better.
  18. Girardi will be trying hard to win those games. He'll want to push his win total up this year as much as he can so he can say he fielded a competitive team with the young players.
  19. Yeah I would not want to face that at all. The Tigers don't look like a good option to face either. Verlander and/or Fulmer are set up pretty well to pitch the WC game. Their lineup is pretty good, although right handed heavy so Sanchez could be a good option against them.
  20. That's pretty innovative. I like it.
  21. The Dogg was like 13 or 14 when we were all posting on the old board 10 years ago. He probably grew up to some degree.
  22. Yeah the Tigers could close strong. Games against an Indians team that is mailing it in and then games against the Braves. What happens if we tie with the Tigers though? We won the season series 4-3 so I assume we get home field advantage.
  23. They need to clarify the standard for overturning it. In the NFL it's like 99% sure to overturn. Baseball is all over the map.
  24. Nice win. That was a huge game.
  25. Ehhh this isn't the biggest mistake Gibbons has made IMO. One run scores and he'd bring him in anyway. Might as well do it now. Also, these games against the Orioles mean everything. The games against the Red Sox may or may not mean something.
