  1. To me it's as simple as Gibbons doesn't really understand advanced statistics and that's enough to make a move for me. He certainly knows platoon splits and I assume we probably bunt fewer than most teams (despite people bitching about it). But his lineup construction is bad (in itself who really cares but it does show a lack of understanding on his part), he CLEARLY doesn't fully understand how poorly some pitchers can do when they face a batter for the 3rd or 4th time in a game, he uses his unrested closer with 4 run leads, etc. Now that said we bring in a stat-savvy manager and we'd find stuff to bitch about but I think it'd be less often.
  2. Lol if that pitcher wants to get flustered over a meaningless base like that go right ahead.
  3. Buck Showalter showing Gibbons on how to not use your closer with a 4 run lead.
  4. You can't tell who cares or not. We do need to get more left-handed though. Saunders has been trash and he's our only lefty in the lineup. I think that's why guys like Ubaldo can come in and dominate. Take our lineup vs. a right handed pitcher and regress everyone's platoon splits accordingly (for righties it's about 6.1%) and it just isn't that great against right handed pitching. We also need to dump Gibbons. He doesn't understand basic concepts like allowing pitchers to face batters for the 3 and 4th time in a game.
  5. This series SUCKED. Looking GREAT for hosting the WC game with a 2 run lead in the 8th yesterday and we piss that game away. Vegas had us as huge favorites this game and we are just laying an egg. Gibbons leaving Stroman in to face the middle of the Orioles lineup for the 4th time is a damned joke as well.
  6. His foot was obstructed in one angle and in the other angle the ball/glove was obstructed. The most unobstructed angle they had was from pretty far away and that was the angle where he actually looked most safe to me.
  7. Lol of course they call that conclusive.
  8. Needlessly using Osuna with the 4 run lead may have him less effective last night and could have cost us the season.
  9. We are 20th in runs scored since the All-Star break. The offense has just not been good. And Kim continues to kill us.
  10. Oh he cares plenty. Probably a good thing he's over there being chill trying to calm down.
  11. Come on man they've had a bad 4 innings they can come back!
  12. I wish you'd just go back to whining the whole game instead of this drivel.
  13. Come on Stroman. Can't give up a big hit here.
  14. This game is f***ing huge tonight. We have a huge advantage with the pitching matchup and the game being played at home. Still not confident.
  15. Game has been canceled. They'll play it Monday if necessary.
  16. Career might be over at age 26.
  17. Way to go Gibby. Biggest game of the year and our SU man and CL are both unavailable.
  18. Oh this was the game where you won some bet or something right? Lol remind me again.
  19. I remember a lot of our early pen losses came from the ineptitude of the offense to score in the latter innings. It'd be a tie game and the bullpen would give up 1 run over 3 innings or something but the offense couldn't score so the bullpen got the loss.
  20. I agree with that sentiment but Shatkins will still have to pony up and pay him market rate. For example, if we offer 2 for 40 and someone offers 3 for 60 he'll probably just forego whatever roots/endorsement deals he has in Toronto and take the extra 20 million.
  21. Pearce? Good question he hasn't played there much this year; I doubt it's great. His UZR at 1B is holding up pretty well though.
