  1. That definitely could happen. I'm not guaranteeing that his Ks won't be an issue and that he's guaranteed for stardom. But given what I've read about his defense and arm, coupled with his power-speed profile, he should be a solid player. Won't ever have a high average or OBP but could be a 30 homer, 20 steal guy with solid corner OF defense.
  2. Yeah he shouldn't be this bad. He'll get it going.
  3. According to Fangraphs he has a career low hard hit % of 30.8%.
  4. Why do you guys think Teoscar is so swing and miss that its untenable? Based on 100 ABs last year in September? His minor league numbers certainly don't suggest it. Steamer projects him for a very playable 26% K-rate, a fair amount lower than Grichuk. I'm not even sure Steamer fully takes into account his 2016 swing changes and from then on it's been much lower.
  5. Well it's partially a product of who we have. Pillar, Grandy, Pearce and Grichuk isn't terrible but none of them are standouts. Teoscar could be a poor man's Grichuk as you describe him (though he appears to be a lot faster as he's averaged over 30 steals a year since 2013).Or he could be the player we all want Grichuk to become. I think strikeout concerns are a lot less of a concern with Teoscar who's K's dropped after adjustments in 2015 than they are with Grichuk (who has become a 30% k guy). Grichuk is also the rare player who gets worse and worse as he hits his prime.
  6. Yeah that is weird. Can't wait for Teoscar to come up though. Might be our best OF right now.
  7. We have a stupid cheer song we sing during the 7th inning stretch and we have cute cheerleaders sing it. We play on turf with a retractable dome. Only team in Canada is fun. We have a huge fanbase of casual fans to draw from, when the team is good we have some of the best fans in the league. They travel to Seattle like crazy. Travel elsewhere pretty well too.
  8. The rare moment where Jonn is the one telling people to relax.
  9. That Kluber game is a tough matchup. Our #5 vs the top starter in the league. I like our matchups the other two games. Hopefully we can take 2 of 3.
  10. MLB will promote the fights with official links while simultaneously suspending everyone involved.
  11. He's above us peons now.
  12. That's a good point and if Gift was being used as a defensive replacement most of the time then having an elite skill like that would be more useful. But he's not, he's basically being used as a typical backup infielder where he plays almost entire games at a time. So I want the best overall player - which at this point is sifting through trash but Espinosa could get back to being above replacement level but I don't think Gift ever will be.
  13. Espinosa with a couple of hits. If he shows anything at all he could swap places with Gift.
  14. Me too! They'll at least be retaining some of their talent as Chris Davis' 160 million dollar extension runs through 2022 (or 2037 if you count the deferments!).
  15. The Orioles have gotten a hit in only 1 out of their last 12 innings. They are terrible this year.
  16. Pat says the Orioles will start to hit because they have too many veteran hitters...
  17. Davis looks as clueless as Grichuk does.
  18. Grichuk looks awful. 3 fastballs over the meat of the plate and he strikes out on 3 straight pitches. I know it's early but I give this guy until the end of April before I consider moving toward Teoscar.
  19. Man Grichuk just doesn't see the ball.
  20. Good start. Too bad Smoak and Pearce didn't advance and that ball that got away from the C.
  21. That is one ugly Jays lineup. Almost makes me wish Morales hadn't gotten hurt.
  22. I assume he just can't play defense in the OF either. Seems athletic enough to play a corner spot but my guess is that was tried and he was terrible so they put him at first where he is also terrible. He did win 4 gold gloves though, further cementing that award as glorified trash.
  23. It looks like crap today. At least we are playing the shitbird Orioles so we've still got a good chance to sweep.
  24. Donaldson, Martin and Travis all get days off. Supposedly just a day off for Donaldson to give him 2 in a row but it seems like this would have been a good day to get him in as the DH instead.
