  1. I just told me secretary to clear my schedule The biggest game of the year is about to start (Just kidding I'm unemployed)
  2. This is one of the biggest games in franchise history and an absolute must-win.
  3. Win tomorrow and not only are we a half game back but we’d gain the tiebreaker over the Guardians
  4. look at that throw lmao
  5. The fine users of Jays Centre when the mods try and close our playoff thread
  6. The lineup does look odd seeing as Cantillo is a lefty but he has reverse splits in his career. Mostly due to his changeup which is the only pitch of his that gets a good Stuff+ grade. Lefties love throwing changeups to righties but they avoid it against lefties if they can.
  7. Great points. The Padres and Angels should be worth way more than the T-Wolves, which are a bottom-rung NBA franchise. Both are in better markets and locations and generate more annual revenue, even with MLB’s s***** TV situation. But the NBA has its TV deal locked up for the next decade, while MLB’s is a complete mess. Throw in the possibility of a lockout, and there’s just a lot more uncertainty around baseball right now.
  8. Sounds like the new Angels owner is going to build a much-needed stadium, which is another reminder of what a failure Arte Moreno was. He bought the Angels for $183 million in 2003, ran them terribly, let Angel Stadium rot into one of the worst parks in MLB, and he still sold the team for nearly $4 billion. Remember that the next time MLB owners cry poor during CBA negotiations. Even the worst of them is walking away with billions.
  9. Jays win tonight and tomorrow and we are back in business. But aside from that, Cleveland might have become the frontrunner for WC3 by mere virtue of being the only "contender" to buy at the deadline. They held onto almost everyone and added a couple of bats, a starter, and a couple of relievers. Everyone else sold, or did some sort of buy-sell combo.
  10. Schneider is fine. He overmanages a little and he's boring, but I think that's what Ross likes. I'm more of a Gibby guy myself. Whoever we hire is probably just going to do what Ross wants anyway. We could also dump Ross but I'd only do that if we have a top replacement lined up, like Erik Neander from the Rays. But would someone like Neander even take the job if he's still #2 to Shapiro? That would technically be a demotion so I doubt it. If you really want to shake it up you'd have to dump Shapiro and I'm not sure why we'd do that. The off-field stuff he's overseen has been great. So we're basically stuck until Shapiro retires, which honestly isn't that bad. You could do a lot worse.
  11. What if we did this but instead of cheering we booed him?
  12. Spaghetti is also an extreme flyball pitcher so getting Straw in there today over Sanchez (the worst fielder in baseball history) or Sean Keys makes sense. Lefty on the hill tomorrow so probably see Straw again, but then on Thursday we face a righty and Soriano is throwing for us. He's a groundball pitcher so Sean Keys likely starts in LF. Jesus Sanchez is a pinch hitter only and he can spell Springer when he needs a day off.
  13. Two games in a row where Sanchez hasn't started against a righty. With all these new guys being added to the team he might find himself permanently glued to the bench.
  14. We suck against lefties and it's tough to find right handed hitting outfielders right now. Taters can fill that role and can get some run at DH as well. It's easy to fit him into the roster next year.
  15. Miles will carve them up for two innings and then they will be in store for a piping hot serving of SPAGHETTI. Jays win this one 4-2.
  16. So the Jays will add one bat and two pitchers today. Sean Keys, Ricky T and Mantiply seem like the top guys we could add but that's a ton of lefties. I almost forgot about Josh Smith, he'll be added as well so maybe they hold off on Keys?
  17. Mods really need to lock in down the stretch
  18. Huge series. Reigning AL Champs need to lock in. If we can steal Game 1, this series, and even the playoffs themselves, will be easy to make. Spaghetti vs. Williams Cease vs. Cantillo Soriano vs. Bibee
  19. The casuals are LIVID that we didn’t claim Luis Robert Sr’s son
  20. 12 beers deep on my couch watching the Jays in 30 knowing that we get to open up the Playoff Tracker tomorrow
  21. Yeah his stuff isn’t exactly off the charts which makes me think he dominated the minors due to his pitchability. Guys like that tend to play down when they hit MLB.
