  1. Two slap hitting midgets for a team legend Kill me
  2. 2 slap hitting midgets Prospect nut huggers rejoice
  3. Wow a 7 year old trade that is in no way analogous to the Skubal trade. You really got me there.
  4. I doubt they are eating much of Taillon's remaining salary.
  5. I was hopeful that he would hit like this when he was 39 years old as the lovable veteran playing out his contract until he retires and makes the Hall of Fame. Instead, we are getting the .700 OPS year in his age 27 season. Only 13 more years to go folks.
  6. Watch out MLB, the Jays are buying* *we are buying Tank Commanders
  7. And he is analogous to Skubal in what way? You’re going to have to add some color here I’m just getting more confused. :)
  8. Gausman is going to get us someone’s 24th ranked prospect at this rate. I can’t wait for that guy to give us a half a WAR spread across multiple years before we DFA him. The equivalent of Charles McAdoo’s little brother.
  9. I don’t know enough about the NHL to comment, but the NBA’s cap system is a mess. The rules are absurdly complicated, teams can’t keep a championship core together, and even superstar players are eventually forced out because it’s nearly impossible to build a sustainable roster around multiple max contracts.
  10. Can you refresh my memory? Not sure who you are talking about but I do remember Pat Gillick trading a prospect who became a Hall of Famer for David Cone and no one regrets it
  11. Best trade deadline pitcher in decades goes for that pile of prospects and I think we should be buying, Kevin Gausman is only going to get us a 40 FV anyway and we already have about 30 of those guys in the system
  12. “Top prospects” -50 FV -28 year old pitcher who can’t actually pitch because he is always hurt -40 FV wow watch out for the Tigers, time to hang the 2032 World Series banner in Detroit
  13. The Tigers are wimps. This is the offer you take on Monday morning.
  14. I remember last year when the Yankees got this guy, Bednar and a Rockies pitcher and the board was losing its mind because we only got Louis Varland lmao
  15. 7.8 percent chance to make the playoffs but there is less than a 7.8 percent chance that whatever turd we get for 2 months of Kevin Gausman or a bum like Daulton Varsho is going to materially contribute to winning anytime soon anyway. If we sweep the Cardinals this weekend let’s ride.
  16. That’s 3 out of the last 4 boys Only 4.5 games back We aren't dead yet
  17. This is great work but it's also kind of depressing. I'm still not over 2025 and this season has made it even worse. We'll make some trades which will be fun but we probably aren't even going to get anything that great out of it because our rentals aren't that good. We need one of these under the radar prospects to hit their 90th or higher percentile outcomes for this deadline to make a big impact moving forward. Otherwise, it's just acquiring more Charles McAdoo's.
  18. There's got to be a way to fleece the cheapskate Pirates for Oneil Cruz. Idk if we need to take Mitch Keller back or something but Cruz is the kind of player with huge power upside that could help fix this lineup.
  19. Ross usually keeps it pretty interesting. Whether buying or selling the Jays have made at least 3 trades every deadline under his tenure.
  20. The Phillies do make some sense as they could use damn near every trade chip we have. Gausman, Varsho, Hoffman....even Jesus Sanchez would fit for them. I would take Crawford but I'm not sure how sold I am on him. His defensive metrics aren't great and they kind of need to be with his subpar bat. Gage Wood and Aidan Miller are damn good prospects but they might be worth more than the type of vets we could offer. The shine is wearing off of Painter but I would be interested. Ramon Marquez is another good pitching prospect. The rest of their prospects kind of stink. But there's probably something there though if the two sides can get creative.
  21. Trade for Skubal, Buxton and one more All-Star bat and the playoffs will be easy to make
  22. So what's the pro-Lauer argument then? Running to another website and screenshotting a bunch of baseball cavemen who agree with you isn't actually on argument on Lauer's behalf. It just shows that there are other idiots out there that agree with you. Do you actually think he possesses a special skill which allows him to produce a low BABIP and high LOB%? Why hasn't he been able to do that throughout the rest of his career instead of just these 8 starts with the Dodgers?
  23. Yeah it seems like they made the Rangers take O'Hoppe in order to get Silseth for basically nothing. With injuries to both Higashioka and Jansen they don't really have a 3rd Catcher so O'Hoppe with his options is a body to fill that spot for the rest of the year. Silseth isn't bad as a back of your bullpen type, but he doesn't have any options left so those guys aren't worth very much either. And then the prospect involved seems like a nobody. So at first it seemed like an interesting deal but after you dive into it it's kind of a nothing trade.
  24. Delete this. Cutting your username off the top of that screenshot isn't enough from it leading people straight to your Reddit profile. I just took a gander and you are a pretty prolific poster there which explains a lot tbh. It's full of very highly regarded dumbasses who don't know a thing about ball. I'm sure you fit right in.
  25. Lauer stinks he's just getting lucky. With the Dodgers he's got a .195 BABIP and a 89.4% LOB. His FIP is over 5 and that's right where his projections are too. The only thing we'll miss from him down the stretch is his ability to command a tank.
