  1. Don Cherry, Pierre Trudeau and Wayne Gretzky are all greater IMO.

Didn't seem like they got much in return though. Or is Fleury simply not worth much at his price?

What's up with this Fleury trade by Vegas? Did they f*** up?
  4. Friedman doesn't care. Or at least he didn't used to. He's the guy who signed convicted rapist and fringe major leaguer Josh Lueke in the hopes that he could squeeze 50 mediocre innings out of him. And Friedman did it 3 years in a row. Things are different now but if Bauer avoids charges he will be back.
  5. Reese is a good enough backup (hitting left handed helps there) but there's no way he should be playing over Kirk. And that goes for Jansen too. Now that said, if there are defensive issues and "young catcher stuff" that Kirk needs to work through then I can see sitting him more than your average starter. But otherwise he should be playing.
  6. Missing a comma there. I think.
  7. Ain’t nothing about that story is funny. I feel bad for the guy. Ended a very solid career on a sour note and by all accounts he seems like a standup guy. In some ways he was the sabermetric poster boy for his era and he deserves better.
  8. A 6th rounder who can hit 98 and signed for under slot sounds just fine to me
  9. Ah yeah I vaguely remember that. I was pretty young so I don’t remember a ton but the general consensus (which didn’t mean much especially in ‘98) was that he was a good manager bc the team won 88 games. But that team was stacked. Clemens had an all time great season to go along with big years from Delgado, Green and even Tony Fernandez.
  10. He's not a guy you bank on to shore up 3B but he is the type of guy that's good to have in the system to provide depth. He could suck sure, or he could turn into an MLB starter. He'll probably end up somewhere in between. Seems like every other week the Dodgers call up some fringe big league 25 year old like Smith who then goes on to contribute in part time roles for the team. We need to strive to have that kind of organizational depth and guys like Smith is how you get there.
  11. He was awful here. Carried a "get off my lawn" type of attitude that made him anything but a locker room benefit. And then yeah he got MeToo'd recently which hopefully keeps him out of the Hall.
  12. You're right. I can't read.
  13. Why is everyone not ranking Tim Johnson? He came after Cito so he is recent enough.
  14. Yeah Tim Johnson was probably the worst one we had. I don't remember if he actually knew the game or not but his constant lying got him fired after just a single season. I remember some of the players talking tons of s*** about him on his way out.
  15. When the news broke, 53 year old Albert Pujols immediately logged into his Instagram account and unfollowed Bauer.
  16. Yeah and on top of it how many of those guys even run their own Instagram account. Clearly Bauer is a big instagramer bc that’s where he macks on chicks but a lot of them are run by marketing teams.
  17. Team Bauer has to be praising the heavens for this friend coming forward. Definitely shows some premeditation going on. Even so, this is the #MeToo era where "believe all women" automatically is the mantra. He likely skates on criminal charges but could still be subject to some sort of lengthy suspension. As evident by changing the All-Star game location over a milquetoast election law, Manfred has shown he has no balls and will cower in fear when the libs come after him.
  18. “This kind of behavior will NOT be accepted under any circumstances.” -Owner of Show Me Your Tatis
  19. That's a good way to look at it. Despite the trouble he's in, if someone sees him as a perennial CY contender maybe I can get close to 3.50-4 FIP value for him anyway.
  20. What should I do with Trevor Bauer in a 14-team dynasty where I'm a top contender and starting pitching is my weakest point? I can't move him to the DL or the minor league roster or anything so he's just eating up a roster spot and my guess is that he does so for the rest of the season. Should I trade him for whatever I can get? Or just bite the bullet and hang onto him?
  21. He seemed pretty decent from his fangraphs page (https://www.fangraphs.com/players/darlin-guzman/sa3005619/stats?position=OF) but his '19 was a repeat of the DSL, though he did make the Baseball America DSL All-Star team for whatever that is worth. His 2021 season is just starting at the ASL at age 20. He's probably a nobody but Hector Perez sucks and that trade cleared Perez off the 40 man so all told it was a good move.
  22. Probably a lot less than people think because he's expensive and was also ass the two years prior to this one. I think his option looks pretty likely to vest next year unless the Jays were to game it but then they are forced with using Romano as the CL. But given all that they might get a decent deal on him and he fits a need so I'm sure the Jays are kicking the tires on him.
  23. Bad bullpens don’t necessarily lead to more 1 run losses. After all, a bad bullpen can turn a 1 run loss into a 4 run loss like it did on the 4th. If anything it’s mostly due to luck. Not sure that the Red Sox have a good pen either and I doubt it’s better than the Rays’.
  24. Yeah it looks like there's a lot of guys with similar value to Cimber and Richards there who got non-tendered. Our bullpen sucks though so if we can't completely rehaul it we at least have the option to hang on to them should they keep producing.
