    A lot of you know more about our minor league system than I do so what is the final verdict on the MILB system for 2023? Top 15 -Tiedeman and Orelvis both took steps closer to the big leagues and I think that helps a lot. -Leo Jimenez advanced to AAA and Kasevich seemed to maintain his status. -But a lot of Top 15 guys spun their wheels (Barger, Barriera) or were just plain bad (Otto Lopez, Zululeta, Macko, Gabby Martinez). 16-30 or lower -We saw some strides with lower ranked guys especially. Schneider, Francis and Horwitz look like big league contributors. Alan Roden took a huge jump from a nobody to a legit prospect. Palmegiani made a leap too. -It also seems like our pitching took a system wide leap with a bunch of pitchers becoming "guys". Though we traded a couple of them for Jordan Hicks. So all that said what was the end result for the year? Good, bad, mediocre? Seems like it was kind of good?

    What international free agents are on the market this year? There are some good Japanese players right?

    Lmaooo what have I even said to you to make you this pissed off at me Dean? I know it was a tough playoff exit but it wasn't my fault. You should do what the rest of us do to blow off steam, fire off some angry emails to Rogers and if that doesn't work you could even call in the occasional bomb and/or death threats. That usually worked for me.

    Lol @ "overlord Atkins", that was pretty good. Did you know that I wish the team would replace Atkins with Click and have said as much? But because I'm not throwing a fit and acting like a crybaby over Atkins being the GM I'm somehow his biggest supporter. And no I don't think Atkins is specifically praying that Gurriel and Moreno perform like dogshit. It was a comment made in jest, though I bet a small part of him would rather not deal with the hot takes over the Moreno trade if that were to happen. Plus, he's probably not even religious. He looks like he's a latte drinking agnostic who watches Virgin River.

    It's possible they're both better than the Jays but it seems very unlikely at this point. It's just doomsday posting where the worst is assumed for the Jays but all our opponents get the benefit of the doubt. Both of them were quite a far ways off this year. And the spending can help but they both seem to be reaching their limits (I think?) and there isn't a ton out there to spend on anyway. Ohtani to either one of them might have caught them up to us in a hurry if he was pitching still but he's not. I suppose the Yankees have a better chance. Spend on Matt Chapman and get a big year, Volpe improves, Judge is healthier, Rodon bounces back, etc.

    So let me get this straight Dean. You think Atkins is petty enough to plant stories with Jeff Blair about how James Click is f***ing things up but he's also not petty enough to care if a trade absolutely embarrasses him? Wow

    Yeah I agree that's why you just roll with Berrios while he's on fire.

    He probably could have made a run at 60 WAR (HoF threshold) if he would have been given full playing time starting in the late 90s.

    I completely forgot that Jose Molina was our backup Catcher for a couple of years. He balled out too.

    On the flipside you have Jose Molina who had -0.2 WAR in 69 games (nice) in 2007 and then 3.6 WAR in 2008 in 100 games.

    Atkins definitely praying for a D-Backs exit I can tell you that.

    Holy s***. I remember him. I vaguely remember the pitch framing issues he had. The dude could hit though! He probably would have been a decent player if they didn't try and make him catch. Those defensive numbers are UGLY.

    Good points and they also had to win Game 3! So when they saw Berrios dealing they could have simply switched gears and used the plan for Game 3.

    It's also tough to gauge because of how it affects the rest of the game. Kikuchi gave up 2 runs (on 4 GBs and a walk) but the Twins burned all their pinch hitters and were stuck with a pretty garbage lineup against RHP the rest of the game. The Jays bullpen mowed them down the rest of the game largely because of the Berrios-Kikuchi decision.

    Maybe Shapiro leaked it because he has a fake twitter account and he was tired of seeing all of the calls for him to replace Shapiro with Click? Or check this one out, Dean. Maybe Tony Lacava wants another crack at the GM job so he leaked it to take out the #2 in Click so LaCava is next in line again. Kind of like Game of Thrones or Succession, but the baseball version. You got any others, Dean?

    Sorry I don't keep track of all of your requests. I did post a couple of theories though! One is that Atkins himself leaked it to get the casuals who want Click to be GM off of his back. The other theory I posted was that Jeff Blair is full of s*** and is chasing clicks. I like your theory about rival GM candidates for the Mets leaking it, that's a great one. Let's see if we can come up with some more, Dean.

    Well I'm not but I think it was seen as Atkins is making almost 100 percent of the game decisions but I think it's safe to say that there is more leeway than we had thought. The alternative is that Atkins is 100 percent a liar and does in fact control all of these decisions which I suppose could be true but he doesn't appear to be a liar to me. He could have lied his way through the Bass situation but instead he told the truth about it which seemingly pissed off everybody. Not sure Jeff Blair is more trustworthy than Atkins is either but go ahead and spoon feed yourself whatever a reporter like him feeds you.

    It is kind of interesting to see the Berrios fallout and who should be blamed. Atkins will often use a bunch of corporate speak to say nothing but he doesn't appear to be a liar to me. And regardless, the Berrios decision had nothing to do with the team scoring a grand total of 1 run in 2 games or Vlad getting picked off of 2nd, both of which were bigger blunders IMO. But if Schneider is doing this crazy s*** on his own accord he has more rope than most of us think and he should be shitcanned. His whacky playoff decisions (which apparently are more his doing than we think?) and the team's repeated baserunning errors aren't getting the job done.

    I think it's a case of doing whatever is within your power to make your own luck. And of course next year could definitely be different so cancel whatever plans you have for posting "I was attacked for saying this last year but I told you the rotation wasn't going to be 100 percent healthy next year". No plan on keeping pitchers healthy and effective is going to work 100% of the time. That certainly wasn't the case this year as Ryu was out for half the year, Manoah turned into a pile, Cimber got hurt, etc.

    Ross Atkins obviously leaked it to help stave off the casuals calling for his head and wanting him replaced with Click. Or maybe Jeff Blair is full of s*** because the FO is pretty airtight and he has no sources and no clicks on any of his articles anymore.

    Jays had the best playoff showing of the 3 AL East teams by far. Congrats everyone.

    Tbh the one positive thing I remember him for on the field was yelling as he crossed home plate on Bautista's bat flip bomb.
