  1. Trust me I'm not enjoying it. I live in Yankee land and have to live it 24/7 but it's like watching a car crash.
  2. lol of course. Season could be over in 3 hours.
  3. Rizzo hit! Not a beta. Stanton can put Jays season on life support.
  4. Rizzo coming up with a chance to win game for Yankees and take serious step in ending Jays season This puts the 'beta' theory on the line. Rizzo is not a beta so should come through. We will see shortly.
  5. "Not a beta Rizzo" pops up after Gardner out at home plate. Jays playoff probability moves to 22% Note: All our models had factored in that Rizzo was "not a beta" so we expected him to crush a pitch there. He didn't. Is this 'beta' vs 'not a beta' thing really that big a deal?
  6. 2-1 Red Sox on a wild pich Jays playoff probability 15.2 %
  7. Brett Gardner hits a double to put 2 runners in scoring positions This is a significant step to ending the season. Likely scenario is that Yankees score 2 runs then the season will be put on life support. I recommend if you'd like to smash anything at seasons end you get your thing you would like to smash. Season could be over at 10:00 pm (once Jays are 3 behind with 7 to go the claims of season over start to get pretty legit)
  8. Alert - stanton hits hard line drive down left field line - only a single but a yankees rally here could move us much closer to a more realistic 'season over'
  9. Cortes looks good. I lower playoff odds down to 22.95. Grant - Boston sucks and has a s***** pitching staff Baseball Gods - Grant is actually right on this, and it will be apparent when they get swept by the Yankees and ironically screw the Blue Jays playoff hopes. Ironically Sox themselves get in with luck and beating up on the bad teams.
  10. Red Sox got through top of first without damage. I raise the playoff probability from 23.2 to 23.24...
  11. Conforto, McNeil, Smith -- buy low on any of these?
  12. Charlie - it's been a positive season no matter what. Wilner - it's early Stagstag - Everyone Relax. Believe There are positive voices out there if you know where to listen
  13. Some trade targets Josh Bell - switch hitter has played a little of outfield too, DH/1b/OF Adam Frazier/Jake Cronenworth - I heard some saying the Padres messed up by acquiring Frazier because it created some positional uncertainty. Maybe the Padres will be looking to reconfigure this. Cronwenworth has like 5 years control left at 27 so would be expensive.
  14. Line up doesn't look bad even without Semien. Need 2 guys, lefty masher and lefty 3rd basemen. Preferably both get on base at a nice clip.
  15. Good point. And Dickerson isn't doing horrible. It would be nice if his on base were a bit higher but Dickerson/Grichuk isn't a terrible platoon. It would be nice to have 3 lefties in the lineup against righties next year cf Springer ss Bichette 1b Guerrero Dh Lefty masher rf Hernandez lf Gurriel 2b Biggio 3b another lefty c Kirk/Jansen
  16. I wonder who the closest equivalent is that is available for 2022. A "Lefty professional hitter"/Randal Grichuk platoon could be decent.
  17. I guess there is a theory going around that Charlie is a beta and that is causing issues beyond the bad decisions. Hard to quantify how many wins the 'beta' trait costs. Boone may also make bad decisions but isn't a beta. Rizzo definitely isn't a beta. The last week bad decisions haven't been a factor. However one team led by Charlie, a beta, has played like weaklings. Another team, led by Boone and Rizzo (not betas) have dominated and are not just looking to win, but looking to clinch the wild card by Wednesday so Cole has time to prepare for 'Cole vs. Sale'.
  18. Did anybody see 'Once upon a time in Queens'. On a serious note well worth watching. Also in it they address a rumor that Kevin Mitchell killed cats. Boone and Rizzo (not betas) - I heard Kevin Mitchell killed a cat. Let's find him and beat the s*** out of him. Charlie (beta) - I'm glad I'm not a cat.
  19. But that's why Boone is so good. Obviously not a beta based on 2003. He can tell stories of that to the team and inspire them like Tim Johnson did with his stories of Nam. Rizzo also not a beta (refused the vaccine). Can tell stories of 2016.
  20. Don't blame me. I'm not the one that started this 'Charlie is a beta' s***. I'm egging it on yes, but I've never seriously suggested that Charlie is a beta, or if he was it would hurt the team.
  21. Fangraphs - Jays 23% chance of making wild card. Yankees 77%. Additional. When adjusting for 'Beta' nature of Charlie and 'not Beta' status of Boone and Rizzo Jays reduced to 0% chance and Yankees raised 100%
  22. That's why the season is over. Game 7 2003. Boone is not a beta. Rizzo 2016. Rizzo is not a beta.
  23. I am a free speech advocate so am morally opposed to locking threads. However it would be hilarious if it gets locked, and the Jays end up 3 games back later today, and we just have to start a new one (3 games back after today it will be harder to accuse the 'season over' guys of being irrational).
  24. lol Kris Bryant was a perfectly healthy 23 year old, coming off of .330 .430 .630 in 134 games and they still got away with sending him to Iowa for a week. I am sure they will easily send a 22 year old coming off of 30 games to Buffalo for a few weeks.
  25. Like Vlad (knee injury 2018, Oblique Spring training 2019) the injury makes it easy. No one is called up after 30 good games at New Hampshire so easy to give him 3 weeks in Buffalo first.
