  1. David Ortiz going all Tony Montana on Fiers lol
  2. There's a certain "pureness", for lack of better word, to watching ST games. Just seeing the players not really give a s*** about winning, relax and have fun. I think the sun setting after 6pm and knowing it'll be nine months before it sets before 6pm again helps too.
  3. I remain on the fence on this issue because bad takes from one side are met with equally bad rebuttals on the other. 1. No, it's not okay or normal for people to be snooping around your car. 2. Just because you have a reasonable expectation of a certain level of privacy and security in your car does not mean it is normal or okay for you to be jerking off inside it in a busy parking lot in the middle of the day. As far as the idea that he was just randomly horny and decided to jerk off on a whim, how stupid do you have to be to believe this? This man intentionally situated himself there for the explicit purpose of jerking off in a busy parking lot. It's the equivalent of a woman flashing her boobs on the side of the highway during busy traffic to see what happens. The excitement turns her on. The only acceptable opinion on this is: Meh. Kinda gross. I just hope this doesn't result in him playing poorly or a trade below market value. Any opinion to the left of this (I love reminiscing about co-workers jerking off during meetings) or to the right of this (won't someone please think of my precious little babies being exposed to this when they already plaster their genitals everywhere at pre-school) is just wrong.
  4. This sucks.
  5. Holy f*** man nobody wants to see random dudes jerking off.
  6. What if he was teaching them how to masturbate correctly? That's yeoman's work. Next thing you're gonna want Sue Johanson arrested too.
  7. Do we really want to know how he plans to address the fans "in due course"?
  8. Pretty sure the excitement of getting caught is what is driving this. Ask Jim he clearly knows more.
  9. Jim has met Dave Chappelle in person
  10. HAHAHAHAHA (please give this guy like 20 thanks for this post so his need for praise for his lame puns is fulfilled and he stops doing this)
  11. ...or just draft, develop and sign pitchers capable of getting outs from both sides of the plate. Is there anyone who is upset at the extinction of Randy Choate careers?
  12. Clearly Boxcar's comment was sarcasm towards Bob's fetish of trading guys who haven't thrown a pitch yet in a Jays uniform. Obviously everyone would be onside with a trade that improves the team, including those two if they pitch well and net a high return. But if those two pitch well, that increases the chance of the team actually competing in 2020. If the Jays are in the hunt for a playoff spot, maybe trading two overperforming middling SPs that would get a haul of prospects indicative of two overperforming middling SPs isn't worth that much. Maybe keeping them and hoping they continue to overperform in 2020 and help the team into a playoff spot is the MOST value they will ever have.
  13. I bet he also spilled coffee on himself and sued McDonald's. I guess Japan really was that terrible.
  14. Haven't franchise values inflated about as quickly as the Toronto housing market since the 1990's? The business of baseball isn't exactly struggling. I get that the increase to the owners' pockets is part of the reason why they choose to put their head in the sand over the long term health of the sport. Baseball is boring to some. But look at all the boring crap that's popular right now. Like esports. People will like s*** if you let them bet on it and let them feel like their a part of a community to supplement their miserable lives.
  15. The right to choose your opponent doesn't bug me, as long as they don't make it gimmicky as other people have said. If an AL East team has 84 wins facing good opponents and an AL Central team has 85 wins while racking up 30 wins against KC and Detroit, it obviously makes more sense to want to face the Central team. This is baseball's lame response to the problems created by the dumb scheduling. What I have a problem with is the rest of the format. Especially the WC home team under the imbalanced schedule. Imagine a scenario like this: NYY - 100 wins TB - 87 Sox - 86 Jays - 80 O's - 50 Cle - 89 Min - 88 Chi - 75 KC - 50 Det - 50 Hou - 95 A's - 87 Angels - 85 Tex - 80 M's - 70 So because the Twins run up their record against s*** opponents, they get the huge advantage of being the home wild card team. While legit teams with 85 wins don't even make it. If you're going to put in so damn many wild card spots, don't have teams with wildly different schedules competing for the same spots! I know the NFL has this problem but there are only 16 regular season games. The NHL and NBA have figured out a nice balance between rivalry and strength of schedule and they aren't exactly run by geniuses. My proposal would be: -Expand to 32 teams - 4 divisions of 8 - face division opponents 12 times, non-division league opponents 8 times, have a few interleague games -2 division winners each league that get the bye, four wild card spots compete in round 1 -top team in the league gets to pick the opponent for the next round. Or don't pick them. I don't care. Or if the MLB absolutely MUST have the Yankees and Red Sox face each other once a month or else the world will combust, then make 4 "leagues" of 8. Where you play your seven division opponents a bunch of times and everyone else 3 times. Top 3 teams in each division/league make the playoffs. But the format still follows the AL/NL World Series split. Top 3 teams in each league should be good enough so that a good team doesn't miss the playoffs unfairly.
  16. The only hope the Jays have of competing is if everything goes right this year. If Bichette isn't playing 150+ games at short due to injury or suckage, the team isn't going anywhere anyways. Might as well plug Drury in there if the FO is going to pay him like a competent backup.
  17. My gosh. Writers are either the most sensitive crybabies over anything or they pretend to be for a cheap click. Won't somebody please think of how this impacted poor Mike Bolsinger? The man had to go to Japan the next season. JAPAN!!! Might as well have sent him to a concentration camp.
  18. Never too early for bobblehead day. Oh man imagine the materials and production costs on that thing. The 3D printer will malfunction.
  19. I'll go with the stats guys on this who predict 67 wins for the Bucks and 57 for the Raptors. Raptors had a nice run but that's what is supposed to happen when you play the Washington Generals for a month. The schedule is pretty hard after the break.
  20. Meh. The Red Sox were the Rays before the Rays existed since selling off Babe Ruth. Not in the smart analytical aspect but the cheapness aspect. The fan base will get used to it again.
  21. Given all the recent graduates from the minors, this makes sense. Gotta work on that launch angle.
  22. There is absolutely nothing the Raptors could have done that made any sense based on the deals I saw out there. They have no need to shed contracts and really no need to take on any either. Stick with the young guys. Miami just went from the fourth best team in the East to the...fourth best team in the East.
  23. Blech. I just don't see how the Jays' logo can rank #3 by any subjective standard. That bird looks like it has anencephaly. Though I do agree that it makes the red maple leaf logo look a little less dumb. Marlins one looks slick. Why does such a s***** franchise produce consistently good gear?
  24. Nice comeback win to finally end Toronto's 11 game win streak curse. Both Raptors and Jays have had multiple 11 game win streaks and lost #12 every time. Leafs...who knows. Doubt they ever got to 11 wins in a row in their history to blow #12.
  25. I don't like to use the word hero often, but this woman is definitely a hero. To make such a bold stand on something you care deeply about and bravely share it on social media...wow.
