  1. This is baseball not boxing nor a street fight. He did all the swinging he needed to do in the batter's box.
  2. Anyone who watches UFC or boxing knows if a fighter hits someone THAT cleanly, they go down and do not come back up. Bautista didn't even flinch so either he has a steel chin or Odor has the punching strength of a 5 year old little girl.
  3. http://www.fangraphs.com/coolstandings.aspx 28.8% chance which will improve after today's win. That's the 5th highest chance in the AL. So I guess they are favourites now to make it?
  4. I hope it ends up being super s***** TV and a 4-0 sweep in four blowouts. I'd love to see Silver sweat through that.
  5. I'd prefer not. This is not the NHL or wrestling. No need to take unnecessary risks for injuries or suspensions just when the lineup is back in order. We've already seen Odor use all his might to hit Bautista square on the cheek and barely cause him to flinch. I don't need to see the man with the punch of a 5 year old girl try to swing again.
  6. I like how wok thinks he is talking to Terminator this whole time.
  7. I'm assuming this is troll bait and these fools took it.

Teams are 1-0 in the game after getting a drubbing in this series. I wouldn't worry about it.
  9. Just remove the entire finger and another one for fun and maybe he'll pitch like Mordecai Brown.

The NBA playoffs where the teams that are supposed to win have won, and blow out games like today's is so0o0o0o0o0o much more entertaining than watching an "undeserving" team like Ottawa get as far as they have....
  11. A heated argument and name-calling over which pick is better - a scrub player or a former decent player in decline who essentially is a scrub now - for SOME OTHER GUY to try to win a million dollars or whatever the hell it is. Proof that humans are just the worst and will fight over anything.
  12. Is this beat the streak thing kind of like survival football, where you can only pick a player once? If so, then getting Carrera out of the way on a night like this would make sense. He's a bad hitter? Well tell that to the Jays manager who has him batting #2...AND it's been working.
  13. Keep in mind the rest of the guys would be a year older. So the real impact is 0.3 assuming no other roster moves. Every other team ages by one year, but then they will also recycle their Bautistas and Grillis.
  14. Jays are up to a 27.3% chance of making the playoffs now. Passing Detroit. Next to knock off is Baltimore then the Jays hit the top 5
  15. I was obviously being facetious given that these projections suggest that three teams have a greater than 90% chance of making the playoffs and half the NL is already under a 10% shot. Perhaps the admin needs to add a category under the thanked posts line item that displays level of autism in each poster so I know exactly how literal I have to be when posting.

This is just great. This thread is outing all the losers who put crap like reasons and analysis ahead of blind Canadian nationalist pride. Sens all the way! This is the greatest playoff hockey has been in at least five years, hands down. I hope Gary Bettman throws himself off a bridge when Ottawa hits the finals. My only regret is that the Oilers blew game #5 or else we would be talking about the possibility of an all Canadian team final. Instead at least one team from a place that doesn't experience real winter will make the finals. Hmm, who to cheer for? The team from the inbred hillbilly redneck city or a suburb of pretentious SJW douchebags? Neither of which deserve an NHL team or any winning sports team or a reasonable quality of life for their citizens or anything nice. I guess I'll go for the hillbillies. At least they voted for Trump.
  17. The Jays are up to a 22.3% chance of making the playoffs. This is 7th best in the A.L. now. This season is far from over. http://www.fangraphs.com/coolstandings.aspx Also, according to Fangraphs the National League might as well stop playing regular season games. The playoff race is basically over.
  18. So this lineup is what it would look like in the 50-win blow-up-the-whole-thing scenario. It's been one or two steps away from that for a while now. Crazy to think the Jays are over .500 since JD has been out which just highlighted how asinine the 50-win scenario was.
  19. Until then, let's just hope the scrubs keep mashing for another three weeks. We know Goins, Barney and Carrera are going to average an OPS in the low 600's. But by the time they are s*** again the good players will be back. Pillar will likely pull back too but it'll still be a career year for him offensively.
  20. Not in May it isn't. But LOL if the Jays were in the NL. They'd be in the middle of the pack at 15-21.
  21. Good. That will give Biagini some leash to prove himself in the rotation before Sanchez and Happ get back. Then Liriano will be the odd man out and sent to the BP when he returns and Howell can be released. Silver lining folks.

Do you not remember the bat flip game? Both the happy and angry reactions from it? Toronto is like an unlit stick of dynamite or a gas leak. All you need is the right spark and I'm sure this city will be up in flames.
  23. My new goal in life is to become a multi-billionaire, buy a baseball team and do s*** that would make Marge Schott blush.
  24. I don't consider what Howarth, and Wilner by extension, did to be "SJW" actions. Howarth was asked personally by a man to stop using the name as a favour. He didn't do it to score Twitter points. Also this happened around 25 years ago when social justice actually meant something. I side with Hurl, the logo and team name aren't meant to be empowering. Chiefs are different because there is nothing in that name or logo which look particularly demeaning. Also, disregarding all this, don't we have freedom of speech? Blue Jays media personalities have said far more egregious and annoying things than the Cleveland team or whatever they want to call them. I find it a strange topic to be annoyed with. I guess it would be easier if Cleveland had a short form like the A's do. Cleveland I's...no thanks.
  25. This guy is going to get tired with all these winning streaks the Jays have put together lately
