  1. once again...check pitch tracker it was touching the line
  2. I hope happ gets 15 line drive outs today...could care less if he gets lucky or not as long as we get outs.
  3. oh...that breaking ball that was one inch off the plate...gotcha. I agree juan was silly for swinging at that pitch...dfa
  4. do you even pay attention to the Jays? AA addressed the innings limit for hutch prior to the season even starting. He's on pace for 185ish innings. There's no danger of him being shut down if they are in the playoff hunt. They can have him skip a start or limit his innings in starts late if they want to keep his innings pitched down.
  5. that's actually quite funny. As a self proclaimed ultimate optimist, I have to admit I saw the thread and in my head thought yeah and AA is busy at an all you can eat greek buffet. Then I opened the thread and saw your pic...too funny. Even optimists like myself can get pissed at times too.
  6. three years of production with an .ops above .900 for EE leads me to believe he will get back to production soon enough. There's only 6 players in the AL with an .ops above .900 and EE is 3rd on that list with a .959 OPS. That's more than just a little loss that for a team to overcome. He will be a welcome sight in the lineup.
  7. It's not like Buehrle hasn't gotten far better lineups than the Yankees out with the same 85 mile an hour stuff. He simply didn't command his pitches. He always pitches bad against the Yankees, so the mental side may have got him more than anything. You pitch with confidence...you locate and get guys out....you have doubts and things can go sideways. As the infamous yogi bera used to say....this game is 90 percent mental...the other half is physical!
  8. the jays lineup won't be so sad once EE, Lind and Lawrie return
  9. This post has pretty much guaranteed that hutch will throw 7 scoreless innings next outing...lol
  10. Francisco had a hit tonight. The guy will strike out tomorrow too, don't be surprised. He's also going to hit some bombs. He hits fastballs and hangers. Pitchers make mistakes.
  11. I don't want to aid the Yankees...but when you have a guy who's got 4 hits that are all homers...you might want to walk him next time..lol
  12. wait till you young bucks get married and are only a lawn cut, quick trip to 3 stores to run errands, cleaning the bathroom and a back rub away from a bang....
  13. that was pretty good..but seriously couldn't have been much more than that dollar wise. Is there no game day thread today?
  14. 10 quality innings vs 10 crappy innings in September could be the difference in making the playoffs or not....I'm not convinced if Morrow would provide quality or crappy innings in relief, but you need good 7th, 8th and 9th inning guys to protect leads down the stretch.
  15. I would think lawrie will be in games by next week. He shouldn't need more than 3 or 4 games of rehab. Baltimore should be a realistic target for lawrie.
  16. If the standings ended the way they are today we'd need both. One to face the Yankees in a playoff to secure the right to have a one game wild card playoff game. Man that would be intense if it ever came to that and they won both
  17. how is Pompey so untouchable? It's nice that he's Canadian, but he's played 23 games at AA. Travis snider was a far more highly rated prospect than Pompey and he didn't work out. Pompey is a nice player, but I wouldn't call him untouchable.
  18. exactly what stats are you looking at? Hutch has had a couple bad outings, but he has much better control and he's 23. Hutch has a 3.8 FIP and a 4.06 xfip. Happ has a 4.18 FIP and a 4.31 xFIP. Yes, that included 5 innings of relief work for Happ. We also have Happ's career numbers we can look at, and he's 31.
