solid first inning. Great ABs by Bo and Barger. Ohtani got lucky. He made a big mistake with that last pitch, Kirk just didn't do damage on that. He throws that same pitch with runners on and he's giving up runs. Kirk won't miss that next time.
I can tell you one thing. If Schneider walks Ohtani in the first inning, I'm just going to throw a hissy fit yelling at the TV that is just going to piss my wife off. So let's hope that doesn't happen.
He'll be taped up, wearing a brace, high on painkillers. That one AB will come late in the game and he'll come in with one good swing. I hope he makes good contact. I mean he'd be on the IL for 6 weeks or more if this wasn't the world series.
It's like Schneider is Davis can't hit the high fastball. Most can't hit the high fastball. Davis won't swing at that pitch until 2 strikes. He'll see pitches, work a walk. IKF will has no plate disciple and makes weak contact on balls outside the zone early in counts. Davis actually has power to crush a hanging slider and will get to a fastball middle or down.
IKF should not start over Schneider. I wish we wouldn't have acquired him. Great dude, but he's taken the bat out of Schneider's hands. It's made us worse.
Yes I agree. We also would have scored 2 in the top of the 2nd if the ump wouldn't have called a strike on a ball 6 inches above the strike zone. IKF's out at 3rd cost us a run. Some things have to break the right way for a 17 inning game.
