  1. Shi Davidi's article. He could just be making stuff up to mess with the fan base.
  2. That's what shi said in his article. I don't think he'd write it if a source didn't confirm it.
  3. Beltran got 16 so Bautista is easily worth 18 if he didn't have a pick attached. Anyone with a protected pick or a team that's already lost a pick and is really going for it might go there though.
  4. Bautista had two freak injuries. Turf toe from hitting the wall and a knee issue from his spikes getting caught in the turf at rogers. Even when he came back and played there were lingering effects of those issues. I fully expect a healthy Bautista to be better in the field and the plate
  5. The thing that bothers me is they didn't go to ee's camp just prior to the morales signing and say you have to make a decision now or we have a player we are going to sign that will likely close off a potential return
  6. Hip surgery doesn't scare you at all? Anyone think there's a chance rowdy gets a look in June?
  7. I just took a look at AAs first draft in 2010. Cleveland drafted Pomeranz at 5 and the jays got Sanchez and syndergaard at 34 and 38. Cleveland had no relevant players in that draft outside pomeranz. The jays also drafted Sean Nolin, nicolino sam dyson, Pompey and Bryant in that draft. The draft is still a crapshoot.
  8. We spent 159 on payroll last year and would still be shy of that if we signed Edwin and Justin smoak prevented this? There's no one left to sign. The jays revenue was through the roof. The revenue difference between a team that makes the playoffs and one that misses by 3 or 4 games is significant
  9. He's produced 8 wins in his career. He's 34 in the first year of his deal. Everyone else falls off a cliff after the age of 33 except the Guys Shapiro signs
  10. For a guy who's base running makes Edwin look fast and a guy who can't play defense 33 mil is not cheap.
  11. And who would those 5 be? Edwin could have been had for 3 years. Bats could be had for 2 maybe 1 year. We just wasted the last 2 years of josh Donaldson.
  12. Ok that makes more sense
  13. Adam greenwood said 12 to 15 mil worth the risk and you said too much or were you talking about a trade and extension for Ross
  14. You wouldn't sign bats on a three year 36 mil deal?
  15. That seems a strong possibility...makes me sick to my stomach
  16. What would people be willing to give up for grandy
  17. I think there's a strong possibility Jose signs with the jays or he doesn't sign until June. I wouldn't be banking on that 10 mil value.
  18. If he's still on the market in March that means no one out there is going to sign him to a multi year deal and no one is going to lose the pick to sign him on a on year deal. At that point we will probably be able to get him on a one year 14 mil deal. If we don't, he waits it out till June and signs with a team that is contending and one that is likely in a race with the Jays. That 10 million dollar theoretical value will vanish, and the fact that we could have had him for 14 million instead of him playing for the opposition will really be a kick in the nuts.
  19. Jose had injuries this past year that derailed his year. I think he bounces back offensively and defensively. He also had more base running mistakes last year than he probably had in the previous three or four years. He was always a pretty decent base runner. Nothing seemed to go right last year for Jose last year. Jose is working his tail off this off season like he always does. He's a very bright guy and his work is very focused. The idea of him retiring seems ludicrous. If I were the Jays or any team, I would sign him for 2 years and the aav could be as low as 13 to 15 mil for those 2 years. http://www.mensfitness.com/sports/baseball/toronto-blue-jays-home-run-machine-jose-bautistas-offseason-strength-and-diet
  20. We have one of the best players in the al in josh Donaldson and a very strong rotation. If this isn't a win now team what are we going to be in 5 years. I highly doubt we have a top 5 player in the al in 5 years.
  21. Bats may not sign till June then what? Jose prob signs one year 15 in march and he is a much better player the valbuena
  22. How is this a better option than signing Bautista on a one or two year deal
  23. There's no better feeling than feeling you have a chance to win the world series in 2022.
  24. bautista on a one year deal would be fantastic....with no pick attached next year, he might take a one year hoping to get a 2 year or maybe even 3 year next year with no pick to worry about.
  25. You have him playing in the pcl most of the year? I'm pretty sure we moved our AAA team to buffalo a few years ago
