  1. We have the payroll to pay for the best free agent starter on the market if we want too!
  2. our pitching was so god awful last year....this just feels like a dream this year.
  3. Covid be damned. Nick markakis watches opening weekend with the wife on his couch and says what am I doing here. He has changed his mind and is coming back to play!
  4. I hope they lose every game. Maybe Aaron Sanchez will get a look.
  5. So they don't have to follow the 114 page protocol book that the MLB came out with? They should face stiff fines and suspensions for not acting in accordance with the mlb saftey protocols.
  6. There are rules, but even more strict rules when you're on the road. You expect these issues to pop up when you're at home. When you're on the road, you're only allowed to be at the hotel or the stadium. There was blatant disregard for the rules. Each team should monitor and know if it's players are in the hotel or not. The guy or guys, should have have had to self isolate immediately for breaking protocol.
  7. One possibly more of their players broke the rules and went and out in Atlanta. I fail to see how this is the leagues fault.
  8. It's not ideal for the Jays, but it would be great for the league if Soto plays today.
  9. It doesn't matter what the league puts in place if players don't follow the rules. Players should be suspended without pay for the year if they have major infractions. https://www.nbcsports.com/philadelphia/phillies/miami-marlins-players-went-out-atlanta-covid-19-outbreak-mlb-report
  10. I was more than a tad skeptical of Roark when we signed him. I didn't really like the dollars especially on the second year, but I really like Roark the person. If there is such a thing as veteran leadership, he has it. He's an easy guy to cheer for.
  11. man....to think if Giles didn't get hurt we'd be 4 and 1. Bring on Mad Max!
  12. Soto finally got 2 negative tests in a row....wonder if he'll be in tomorrow.
  13. now we're arguing like Justin Termine and Eddie Johnson, but I said I wouldn't tie the words great and Font together. He was good for us last year and he's off to a great start with us this year...one down! There's certainly nothing wrong with his stuff.
  14. Rowdy only has 2Ks in 17 PA with 2 walks. I know that's not a sample size, but it's a good start. If he kept that up with his exit velocity he'd have a fantastic season.
  15. Sure good for us, but it seems like you're ignoring that he played for 3 teams last year and put up a 4.72 FIP for the year combined. He was not so good, or hot garbage prior to joining us.
  16. Rendon was a huge loss. With Soto out with Covid and we're in a 4 game set and are only going to see Scherzer and miss Strasburg and Corbin things couldn't have worked out better.
  17. I'm not sure I'd tie the word great and Font together. Serviceable yes.
  18. I missed the start of the game. I was listening to the game on the radio coming home and they said Bonifacio and I thought I was hearing things or going crazy. How does emilio bonifacio have a job?
  19. that was a gift....why would they run on wag
  20. pitch limit....can we pitch borucki 2 nights in a row?
  21. You would think they would have had a plan for the worst case Marlins scenario. 15 players although one has tested negative after having tested positive. The team itself just can't give up and take the league down. There are a ton of unsigned free agents. Kendrys Morales could probably DH tomorrow if called upon. Sign 3 or 4 vets, dig into your 60 man pool and field a roster. I'm pretty sure I read an article about some unsigned MLB players working out in anticipation of an opportunity. That opportunity has arisen.
  22. How is that possible to have alternating positive tests, then negative, then positive and negative. The tests are highly accurate if administered properly. This could be a break down in testing more than anything. One of the Marlins players who tested positive has now tested negative. If there are issues with the lab they are sending samples to or the people administering tests they need to get that fixed.
