    I thought about him too. I figured his deal would be up. He still has next year at 16.5 the following at 14.5 and an option with a 5 mil buyout in 21, 22 and 23. Asdrubal Cabrera is expiring and he should be available. They were even talking about how the Nationals should trade Cabrera when I was driving home.

    Yeah, I don't care about giving up a maybe prospect who may or may not be good in 2 or 3 years for a chance to get one of the best pitchers in the game this year for a chance to win this year. You play to win the game!

    He needs playing time and still needs to make some adjustments. He's now in place where if he shows a little promise he can get continued playing time next year. If he's going to develop he needs at bats, and he a lot of developing to do with the bat...lol. I wish him luck. Super nice dude.

    Well, I think the season will finish and Kloffenstein has not pitched all that well in the independent leagues this year. I'd use up his prospect capital before it evaporates

    Bad things happen, but they can't go unpunished. That's what the NBA is fighting for. If bad things happen without punishment, how can can you ever stop the bad things.

    Talking about it, but has the officer who fired the shots been charged with attempted murder yet? Talk is cheap. The NBA very likely could cancel the season unless they bring charges against that officer.

    You don't think we're playing real baseball now, so that explains your position. I didn't say Bauer would sign an extension without going to free agency. I said we'd have an inside track, because if he enjoyed the club he'd entertain an offer from us. We should have as much money as anyone to spend on Bauer next year. He's only taking one year deals anyways!

    Flip Shaw and a low level prospect for an expiring Cabrera and our lineup looks dangerous with a bullpen that’s pitching pretty good. Now if police officers in the states can’t stop shooting unarmed black people, maybe we shouldn’t do anything because the season might get cancelled.

    My god he's 2 to 3 years away. We have 4 or 5 pitching prospects ahead of him. We have 35 million in payroll committed to 2022. Bauer gives you a chance to win this year! Having Bauer gives us the inside track on signing him next year. We have tons of payroll. Your prospect love is sickening. Prospects are cool, parades are cooler. We're not talking about a sure fire can't miss prospect. If you're not willing to give up a Kloffenstein, you won't ever give up a prospect.

    I would give up Kloffenstein in a heart beat for Bauer.

    Why not we're in the playoffs! I hate the we're not good enough mindset, let's not go for it mentality. We could probably pick up Cabrera to upgrade 3rd base for next to nothing. Maybe trade shaw and a lower level prospect. You add bauer and our lineup looks pretty good when you look at how good our bullpen is. The Royals won the world series....why not us.

    Fair enough. We need an arm right now. I'm guessing it cost next to nothing. I just hope it means we're not out on Bauer.

    I don't see any scenario in which Bauer doesn't get traded. He's expiring, the Reds aren't making the playoffs. It would be professional negligence for any GM not to trade Bauer under those circumstances.

    quit shopping at the thrift store. It's time to hit Rodeo Drive. This move is fine, if they go get a much better starter to go along with Walker. He's another 5th starter expiring this year. We have Ryu and 3 back end starters.

    not after spring training and summer camp! It's easy to get reactionary as a fan. I was in the get rid of this guy camp. It's an easy camp to get in when every time you see a guy he gets rocked. We have a bit more information, we can all take a deep breath now. I'm glad he's had some decent outings and looks like he can contribute. Our bullpen was hot garbage last year. Who would have predicted what's going on this year. It's very encouraging.

    His career uzr 150 is +2.5. He’s not a bad defensive first baseman. He’s significantly better defensively than vlad at first at this point and he has a wRC+ of 123.
