    Probably the coolest name in baseball though I'm not sure that is worth a 4 year contract.

    The Diamondbacks suck because they changed their front office and the new front office sold all those top prospects for pennies on the dollar. One of the best ways to get undervalued players is to pick guys up from a new front office who are trying to put their own stamp on their team by gutting the system.

    I think another SP is needed because of the brutal attrition rate on young pitchers. I'd be much more comfortable with Sanchez waiting in AAA to step in. It seems to me that McCarthy represents the best chance of getting value on the FA SP market but even he might take a 4 year commitment and it will probably be hard to get him out of NY since I think the Yankees want to keep him.

    Low risk but the most likely scenario is that by May 2015 this board will be full of threads proposing trades for 1B/DH types.

    Saunders is an okay player who will likely get better in Toronto but he's not 'fap-worthy' imo. It's a good trade for us mainly because the value he will likely provide exceeds his salary, allowing us to make a play for someone like Lowrie and/or one of the mid tier SPs. I don't think this trade is that bad for the Mariners, Happ will be solid there, the problem is that they presumably could have gotten a Happ type without giving up Saunders.
