  1. Are officials accountable in any sport? Serious question, I don't know much about basketball, for example.
  2. He does have a good beard jawline.
  3. I like the Orioles, if only because I had a huge crush on Elaine Benes when I was a kid.
  4. Daniels would have been on everybody's list a couple of years ago. Just goes to show that these things change (though there is no saving Amaro Jr). Beane as such a long track record of success, he has to be in the top 5.
  5. Clearly not his speed holding him back defensively though. If it is his reading of the ball then I don't know if it will make a huge difference (still maybe that will improve with more experience).
  6. I'm also of the opinion that it is too much of a gamble for a shot at a one game playoff. I'm also not sure how great an idea re-signing him would be, presumably you are looking at 7-8 years at well over 20 million per annum. Obviously he is a great pitcher now but we are seeing pitchers decline much faster than they used to now in the post-roids (or post-obvious roids) era.
  7. That delivery makes my ankles hurt.
  8. 3rd Rock from the Sun was awesome, if only because it had the legend that is John Lithgow in the main cast.
  9. Amaro Jr is probably holding out for a job saving offer for Hamels. I don't think the Phillies are going to be reasonable unless their financial situation is bad.
  10. Nice to see the good people of Baltimore finally sticking it to all those small businesses and charitable community centres hurting the community.
  11. The most famous joke summing up policing in the United States: "The LAPD, The FBI, and the CIA are all trying to prove that they are the best at apprehending criminals. The President decides to give them a test. He releases a rabbit into a forest and each of them has to catch it. The CIA goes in. They place animal informants throughout the forest. They question all plant and mineral witnesses. After three months of extensive investigations they conclude that rabbits do not exist. The FBI goes in. After two weeks with no leads they burn the forest, killing everything in it, including the rabbit, and they make no apologies. The rabbit had it coming. The LAPD goes in. They come out two hours later with a badly beaten bear. The bear is yelling: "Okay! Okay! I'm a rabbit! I'm a rabbit!'"
  12. SJWs spend more time thinking about what other people do in the sex lives than the Catholic Church does.
  13. Probably Dan Duquette incognito.
  14. If you aren't NY or LA forget it.
  15. That would cost way more than what Rogers would be willing to spend.
  16. Papelbon isn't worth what Amaro will demand for him. Pass.
  17. Probably someone in the bullpen or maybe Justin Smoak if he starts regularly.
  18. I really don't understand what the Orioles are whining about. Corporations poach officers from other corporations in every line of business. Just take the financial compensation and move on.
  19. Altidore is a complete donkey at the premier league level but tore the Dutch league apart so he should do well in the MLS. If he plays well I'd expect him to go back to Europe to try to prove himself again.
  20. Just collect a bunch of failed starters to fill out the pen. No need to spend a ton of money on someone like Papelbon.
  21. Long time reader is this guy:
  22. It could certainly go this way, but I think the new generation of Cuban Americans doesn't care so much about this + the business wings of both parties probably regard the embargo as bad economic policy.
