Ross trying to keep Charlie's man Cole away from him lol
Atkins keeping him on the taxi squad until he becomes a last resort. Charlie's got him closing games a few days later
Buck has just been annoying me so much these past two years.
I get irritated hearing Buck talk about fastball usage in every inning.
Tabler is real bad but at least he's just bad, not irritating lol
Martin had walked 4 times and been HBP 3 times so he actually had a 126 wRC+ coming into tonight.
A couple Ks tonight so that'll drop a bit.
Only one extra base hit so far for Groshans
Edit - another K for Martin
A bit surprising to see these strikeouts considering his low K rate in college.
35 starts over 4 seasons.
And these past two seasons in which he has tried to maintain a starter's workload he's run into nagging groin problems. Now he's trying to re-work his delivery to get past these issues.
There are some very real risks here and I think it's too convenient to attribute them to jitters.
Hopefully he's able to settle right into the rotation beginning with his next start. But we'll have to see.
That's out of the pen though.
His stuff wasn't near that in his starts last season either.
Hopefully he's able to bring that stuff and command as a starter.

Big Nate rebuilding his entire delivery to have "less violence" to avoid re-occurring groin issues.
Yikes!
I really don't think his stuff taking a step backwards has much to do with any mental issue.
Hopefully he can figure out a way to get the most out of his arm and stay healthy. That sounds like something you do in the minor leagues though.
It just seems more likely to me.
He's had injury problems and his stuff might be significantly worse as a starter.
He turns 25 later this year. I am not at all saying it with certainty. Just seems the more likely outcome if I had to guess.
I think Pearson ends up as a reliever. Every time I've seen him the command is poor. And his stuff played up so much out of the pen last year against the Rays in the playoffs.
That would be pretty funny. Just admit that it's a bit of a joke and, instead of major renovations, have a line for doubles and a line for homeruns.
They should do that for RF in Yankee Stadium.
The Tigers are still on the hook for 2 more years, AFTER this season, of Miggy at $32M + $8M buyout for his 2024 option.
He's got a 12 wRC+ so far this season.
