    NBA Thread

It's so dumn that in 2014 NBA teams still run stupid hero ball shots to end quarters instead of running an actual offence. Steve Kerr was on the record about it earlier today. http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/12/15/steve-kerr-on-why-people-want-superstars-to-take-final-shot-because-people-are-idiots/
  2. Heyman is lovable! Get off his case.
  3. Donaldson Longoria Machado Sandoval Headley In terms of who I'd want for next year ignoring contracts. I'd swap Pablo and Headley in the real world where their salaries matter. Overall I think Headley will be a better player than Sandoval over the length of their contracts though.
  4. The AL East is still the strongest division, as it was last year.
  5. Well the Blue Jays paid him a $1M buyout instead of paying him $10M so I doubt they'd go that high on Morrow.
  6. 3/$45M maybe Cue those who comment on sportsnet.ca articles that Melky should've been re-signed at that price.
  7. This isn't Gibby drama. Gibby da best. And the tight-knit group thing isn't news, he said that a month or more ago.
  8. Some decent signings for minor league deals. Gindl is some nice minor league depth. Had a pretty nice cup of coffee in the majors in 2013 and he's still only 26.
  9. I think Alford was way behind in the fan vote so he probably won't make it.
  10. As others have said, he's not going to post JJ Hardy offensive numbers. But here's a rough WAR calculator: http://www.ryantansey.com/simplewar.html Last year league OBP and SLG were .314 and .386 respectively. But adjusted for the league and park those numbers should be higher for a Goins calculation.
  11. Well his wife was at the game today and still looking happy! Link BTW, one of the other ladies in the photo commented on the picture, saying it was a "very cold night". Admittedly I don't have the ability to tell the exact temperature from simply looking at a photo, but brb moving to Australia if that's considered very cold.
  12. I think Alford might have been injured. Got replaced after 2 at bats yesterday and didn't play today. Couldn't find any reports or articles saying if he was injured or not though.
  13. That universe doesn't exist for Gruber.
  14. Red Sox loading up on groundballers for its great defensive infield.
  15. Morosi is a hack. I think he's around 0 for 1500 in terms of his Blue Jays rumours and predictions coming to fruition. He's a human click-bait machine.
  16. Because Dave Stewart is dumn! (just look at how he valued Montero) Maybe he's not a realistic target. Maybe a reliever a tier below Marshall.
  17. I've suggested this a few times elsewhere already, but I'd love Navarro for Evan Marshall.
  18. Yeah. It's a pretty crazy offensive environment. Here's the batting leaders last year: http://www.baseball-reference.com/minors/leader.cgi?type=bat&id=867da834
  19. Eww, no suggestions of Dee Gordon to the Blue Jays please. All he has is his speed.
  20. Hopefully some even shittier replacement umps come in for Martin to bamboozle.
  21. Now flip Navarro to the Diamondbacks for Evan Marshall.
  22. Andrew Miller? Jason Hammel?
  23. I'd hope they could get a decent pre-arb reliever for Navarro. The DBacks seem dead set on moving Miguel Montero and don't have much to replace him with. After Dave Stewart gets fleeced for Montero, flip Navarro to him for someone like Evan Marshall.
  24. Actually yes: BTW: Seinfeld was a completely different show once Larry David left. So much worse with Jerry as showrunner. I just knew after watching that video that the episode would be from the 8th season.
