These little decisions are likely left entirely up to Atkins, who we know is actually pretty inexperienced at running an MLB team. Shapiro will be responsible for the big moves and long term direction, but I'm not too surprised that our rookie GM has made a few questionable decisions. -

He had his contract renewed at league minimum, the only way this wouldn't have happened is if Sanchez died. They didn't buy out any of his arb years or anything. -

I think Shatkins might be more interested in the prospects they could acquire from a Donaldson trade. Did Cleveland ever give out any massive extensions under Shapiro?

Care to elaborate on this? Do you also not support challenges/umpire reviews? Do you enjoy pitchers spending the first 3 innings of the game feeling out the umpire's strike zone, throwing it farther and farther off the plate until they stop getting the call? How is a batter supposed to know if a pitch on the corner will be a strike? Wouldn't it be a lot more fun to have all players actually get to know one strike zone, and not have to figure it out each game? I watch baseball to see great movement on pitches, bat flips, super man catches, etc. Not to see umpires blow games on ridiculous calls like the Revere one you mentioned. I for one would not miss plays like that.

playoff games are typically a half hour longer than regular season games, and i don't think anyone minds or even notices the actual game time. I think its more psychological - it just feels annoying when the game is chugging along then all of a sudden we have 2 mound visits by the catcher, a pitching coach visit, then a pitching change and all of a sudden it's taken 45 minutes to get 2 outs.

actually enforcing the rules about batters not being allowed to leave the batters box 100 times in an at bat would help a lot.

I like this year's rotation over last year's. Liriano > Dickey Everyone's also a year older, which should be excellent news overall as we would expect Stroman and Sanchez to both still be improving. Stroman especially has a chance to have a much better year.

More Canadians (~4M) watched the Jays wildcard game than game 7 of the world series. I think that's pretty interesting, most people in Canada are primarily Jays fans and not baseball fans -
You would think someone who spends as much time hating a top prospect as Todd would at least know this fundamental point about his story before forming such a strong opinion
