  1. They found some problems with his elbow.
  2. Ya, you're right, he did. Which makes me ask... Why the hell weren't we in on him if he only got 12 million over 3 years... He's on the Phillies 40-man, are there anymore hoops he has to jump through before he is able to play in the US?
  3. Ya, AA was asking him what he thought would be best for himself. And he also told him there would be no promises to his role if he were to be called up.
  4. My sentiments exactly, you sir have hit the nail on the head.
  5. And AA did not blame the lost season on defense. He said he should have paid more attention to it last offseason and not looked past it. I feel next year we'll be a better team defensivly. EE is fine at first, he's about average. Our biggest up grades we need are 2B and C. If AA picks up defense only players to fill those spots it'll be an upgrade to the team. Goins I think should be our starting 2B next year, unless we trade for someone who can hit and play good defense, because there is not a single free agent 2B that I would want other then Cano. AA just needs to sign one of the many defensive catchers on the market this winter and kick JPA to the curb or send him to the minors.
  6. A bad transmission could technically cause a wreck which could total a car. There have been problems with some vehicles where parts come loose in the trans and cause it to then lock up. Traveling at highway speeds when a trans locks up can easily cause a crash. Especially with a rear-wheel drive vehicle, where when it locks up it would be similar to pulling up hard on the e-brake, the tail end of the car would go and chances are you'll be off the road to one side or the other. So yes... A bad transmission could be the root of the crash.
  7. According to baseball reference his dWAR averaged over a full season would put him at 9.5WAR. If his offence was replacement level. But if you include his slightly above replacement level batting right now, over a full season, he's a 12.2WAR player.
  8. Oh I see. I didn't see that part. It would be interesting to see the curve of only the players that actually started playing in the NHL when they were 22-23 and how their SV% changed throughout their career.
  9. This is why Bonds needs to be in the HOF. I don't care if he did steroids or not. I'm sure half the people in the HOF cheated somehow and experimented with different drug cocktails. He was close a couple other times too. 2002 - 46HR, 47SO. 1994 - 37HR, 43SO. He also had 18 straight seasons where he walked more then he struck out.
  10. Something about a bird in your hand isn't as good as a bird in a bush. My teams are depressing this year. I'm in 2 leagues and the highest I'm gonna finish is around 17th... I probably could have finished higher in this league if I didn't sell off my starters and go into "Re-tool" mode.
  11. That's interesting. I would have thought goalies get better with age. But, if you look at it this way... Younger goalies usually don't get a chance to start in the NHL though, only the most talented of them would get the chance. Which means the ages 21-24 would only have goalies that are performing good, because the bad ones are kept in the minors so there wouldn't be goalies dragging down the average SV% for the younger ages. But the middle aged group 28-34 would have more "established" goaltenders which would be given a longer leash even when they are not playing up to par. These players here would be dragging down the overall average SV% for that age group.
  12. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/09/poll-will-adam-dunn-and-paul-konerko-retire.html Both Konerko and Dunn are contemplating retirement, which would mean the White Sox get even a little bit more worse. I can't see Dunn calling it quits, especially since he'll get 15MM next year. What do you guys think, if Dunn came back even for just 2 more years, he'll probably reach 500 homeruns. While being steroid free(I would guess). Does he get into the HOF?
  13. I would take someone with really good defense like Goins who can't hit a lick but can save runs with his glove, over someone like Izturis.
  14. Does Bautista have 10 and 5 rights now? By my count he does. We might not even be able to trade him if we wanted to...
  15. How many people have hit more homeruns then the number of times they struck out in a season?
  16. Ya, I saw you got Johnson. I had a hard job deciding which one I wanted between Johnson and Nelson. I don't think MAG will even be signed before the end of the year let alone get put on the MLB roster. I wouldn't be getting him at #3 anyway, Spanky would snatch him up(unless he was on a 3 day bender).
  17. Aaron Boone hit a walkoff homer in a game 7... Doesn't mean he was good...
  18. A few September call-up waiver claims today. I used up my priority #3 to get Jimmy Nelson, who's a top 100 prospect on some lists. I also had a second claim on Erik Johnson who is also a top 100 on some lists. Anyone else put a claim in on these guys? I see Gibbers got Semien. And Hurl, well, I think he had a brain fart.
  19. You should be able to get a bubble that is full of beer, so that its kinda like a beer bath.
  20. It's just a better idea to give them the rest of the season to rest, instead of bringing them back to try to win games. They should put Reyes on the DL too.
  21. No he's not. He's constantly above average defensively.
  22. He could probably play if the team wanted him to. AA probably said it was a no go. #TankNation
  23. Boni is now 12 for 12 in SB in KC. Ties his number from in Toronto in 74 less games...
  24. In the 2nd half of this season after he was brought back from injury the right way and not rushed he's had a 126 wRC+. Including a 145wRC+ in the month of August.
  25. Longoria might just be a slightly above average defender right now. With the injuries he's had maybe he's lost a step or 2 to his range.
