  1. Andrew Miller pops in my mind.
  2. And then this board will complain and ask why the Bluejays let him go.
  3. After seeing Kikuchi put up Hader-like stats in the bullpen I think he should start the season there. Just put him in the bullpen from the get go, give up on him as a SP.
  4. And in the end that 1st round pick never performs as well as the old worn down Brady and Rodgers. They normally turn out to be all hype.
  5. And then he downward spiraled. His bat started declining after age 24. Think how much better he would have been if he was a little more fit. He would have been closer to his 5+ WAR seasons like age 22 and 24.
  6. Hopefully Kirk tries to be serious about his health. If not he'll no doubt downward spiral like Pablo Sandoval.
  7. Yup. The term length is usually just to make sure they don't take off for somewhere else.
  8. Looks like Schneider is sticking around. Three-year contract with a team option for the 2026 season I trust him to take us all the way. He's already won championships managing the Vancouver Canadians (2011), Dunedin Blue Jays (2017) and NH Fishercats (2018). He has the "it" factor.
  9. I'm not saying any of them are good players going forward. That wasn't the debate. It was that contenders still give atbats to below average players. At least our plug didn't produce a negative WAR like those other guys.
  10. We should probably trade for Miggy. He is like 70 career WAR. He can also cover LF/RF and 3B.
  11. I didn’t know career stats helped their 2022 teams. Do teams get bonus points in the standings for past performance of their players?
  12. Merrifield finished the season strong. It's easy to picture him bouncing back next season and putting up 3 WAR. I'd be alright with a competition between him, Espinal, and Biggio for the starting 2B spot.
  13. I think the Angels let him walk for nothing after next season. They'll set their price too high for a trade to happen.
  14. For all the "Contenders don't give players like Tapia 500 PA" people. Tapia: 433 PAs, 0.2 WAR Y Gurriel(Astros): 584 PAs, -0.9 WAR Castellanos(Phillies): 558 PAs, -0.8 WAR I guess they're technically right, they give them more than 500.
  15. This is the best way to describe our situation. Our bullpen had performed better this season than both the Phillies and Padres.
  16. https://www.hockey-reference.com/players/m/murrama02.html Under transactions it shows Murray was released by the Dallas Stars 16 days ago.
  17. Some videos show that there are other players right behind Adams. It was also this guy's first day on the job, so it's also possible he didn't know wtf was going on. I feel the outcome might have been different if he had stopped to help, it would have also made Adams look slightly better.
  18. If someone gets t-boned when running a stop sign or even a yield, yes they get the blame. The mic guy should have probably yield to the football players as they were walking straight towards the tunnel. Adams probably didn't mean to push him as hard as he did, that guy looks kinda small and scrawny so it didn't take much to knock him over. What Adams did immediately after speaks the most, he should have stopped to see if he was alright and help him up, the fact he kept walking is what made him a dick.
  19. I took Cameron Johnson.
  20. You were up for 2. Speedy's window ended at 10:30 last night
  21. Looking at the draft sheet I think Quadruple Doink is back up? https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1cGWK1Rzumw2Yb1SC8SlU0y6D79LhluZV6JSjAgyZ7yk/edit#gid=1234331739 Quadruple Doink Al Horford Speedy 10:30 PM Abomination Abomination Speedy 3 hrs Quadruple Doink Swipa Da Fox 3 hrs
  22. Hopefully Ilya Samsonov can blossom. He was a highly regarded prospect at one point.
  23. Bringing in the lefty is the most confusing part. Santana hits better from the right side.
  24. So a fantasy baseball re-draft league team?
  25. I like seeing teams win eventually though. They've been around since 1969 and still haven't won. It would have been the Mariners if it wasn't for them knocking the Jays out.
