  1. Well AA needs a plan and to be honest it doesn't seem like he has one. He either tries to add to the core he has, or he sells of pieces like Bautista, Rasmus, Reyes, Buerhrle, Dickey etc. If the Jays stand pat, there is no point in keeping the same roster around since they aren't good enough to begin with to contend in this division with the Rays, Yankees, Red Sox, Orioles. There are still some solid FA's out there - and all the would require is cash. Also, there are plenty of 2B upgrades available (Ellis, Roberts etc were on the FA market) and there are some options via trade (Mariners need to move Franklin or Ackely; Daniel Murphy could be available; Brandon Phillips; Danny Espinosa) all whom would be upgrades over Goins/Maicer. Also, AA needs to strengthen this bench - a bench of Maicer, Thole/Kratz, Sierra, Gose would be awful.
  2. And who says Danny Salarzar doesn't end up in that group as well?
  3. I hope so too. I don't want to see wasted starts on guys like Esmil Rogers, Tomo Ohka, Josh Banks, JA Happ etc. Lets see what Hutch and Stroman can do if they have great ST's!
  4. I don't mind rotation spots given to Hutch and Stroman out of ST if that's the worse case scenario. However like you said, other areas especially 2B need improvement.
  5. Um where's Sanchez and Stroman? Just an awful offer.
  6. My talks with that team broke down over some prospect swaps. Your offer is very strong, definitely something I will get back to you on.
  7. 100% agree
  8. That was more of a sarcastic remark I was making. I obviously know that means "diddly s***" going forward.
  9. Not until Salazar shows he can pitch 200 + innings. Sorry but Sanchez can go out there in August next year and make 10 starts and look unhittable. Does that mean he's a more valuable asset than lets say a Price or Latos if they had 2 years left after 2014?
  10. Won't be making a comeback in Toronto. Pitchers who are looking to rebuild their value/make a comeback hate pitching here. I don't want to see a post after Mark Mulder signs with a team saying "oh the Blue Jays missed out on a huge bargain" lol
  11. And a Cy Young Award. In all seriousness, you can't say Salazar is better than Price right now. Sure he's under club control for the next 6 years and has huge upside though who says he reaches his potential of being a No. 1 guy. I really like Salazar, though Price is still superior in my view over the next 2 seasons easily. For an example, Aaron Sanchez can go out there next season lets say and look dominant in 8-10 starts. Does that mean he'd be a better pitcher than David Price?

  13. Not even a jersey worthy minor league free agent to get excited about
  14. Fantastic deal for the White Sox. They get a solid middle of the order bat at the hot corner, and who's also a solid defender as well. Kevin Towers has made stupid deals these past couple of years. I actually like what the White Sox have been doing this offseason. Signing Abreu, trading for Eaton, and now acquiring Matty Davidson.
  15. He would have been a nice pickup on a minor league deal. Was hoping the Jays would have given him a minor league deal.
  16. Amaro is just fapping over those 17 wins.
  17. Danny Espinosa is the best option. Seriously, I'm shocked AA hasn't acquired him yet. He loves making trades.
  18. Great deal indeed for Atlanta. A healthy Floyd gives them a very good No 3 starter, and pitching in the NL is a plus. Floyd was already a solid pitcher in the AL, so I'd expect if he's healthy, he likely could even have better numbers.
  19. I'd be interested to know if AA contacted Floyd's agent. Though if I'm in Gavin Floyd's shoes and trying to rebuild my own value, I'd rather pitch in Atlanta over Toronto. If Atlanta gave Floyd $6 million, I'm sure it would have cost Toronto around $9-$10 million to lure him north of the border.
  20. I would have liked Floyd in a Blue Jays uniform, though don't you think Floyd would rather pitch in Atlanta instead of Toronto?
  21. John McDonald…oops they traded him like a couple of years ago.
