  1. Me and Spanky have touch downed in Montreal and are off to Dieu du Ciel. They have great craft beer there!
  2. Oh mate, just close shop early lol.
  3. That's awesome. Would love to work there. Heck that would be the place to be on Opening Day lol. Order some pizza and some 24's of beer! Party it up!
  4. Meh I'm not counting them out since Texas has a bunch of injuries to key guys and its not like Mariners or Astros are good enough, though the A's losing Parker for the entire year and AJ Griffin out for a while does have an impact on their rotation. As well, Jaso is slotted to be their full time DH and I don't think he has the bat to produce a lot of value there, even despite his good .OBP he's demonstrated. Moss could regress, and same with Donaldson I expect. I still like the A's, though they are more vulnerable this season and things could go wrong for them in a hurry especially if they lose some of their other main guys to injury.
  5. They likely won't retain Lowrie as a FA since he'll likely cost too much for them, so that's one of the reasons why I think he could be moved.
  6. Just curious, but do you think Jed Lowrie could play second base? My reasoning is Addison Russell is the SS of the future in Oakland, so that means Lowrie might be shopped around possibly at some point this season. He's a free agent I believe in 2015, so if Oakland is out of the playoff picture come June, there's a good chance he's shopped. Do you think he'd be a good target to play second base for the Jays? We know how AA loves to trade rather then sign FA's, so it wouldn't surprise me to them trade for Lowrie and try to work out an extension. What do you guys think?
  7. Me and Spanky are going - flying Porter down on Friday. Also, I think Gibbers is making the drive out to Montreal.
  8. Bedard > Redmond & Rogers
  9. Is Justin Ruggiano available on waivers?
  10. Same with me. Also, he's going to be turning 25 so it's not like he's a young 22-year-old player coming up from the minors.
  11. You can't make reservations there, but I'm sure after the game it should be fine for sure as long as there isn't a hockey game that night. Most people/casual baseball fans try to head to Real Sports, Loose Moose, Jack Astors, Boston Pizza etc for drinks/food before and after the games. There are a ton of great bars further north from the RC around Dundas/University or close to the St. Lawrence Market. Even the Distillery District (Mill St. Brewery) or Bellwood Brewery would be great places to go to after the game and we could likely make reservations there.
  12. Downstairs in the Longo's at Maple Leafs Square. Best place to go grab a couple of beers and some food before any game. Can't beat the value.
  13. We'll go to Corks before the game on Saturday and/or afterwards. Great beer and food for great prices!
  14. Erik Bedard would be much better.
  15. He's a Canadian kid, give him some slack. I bet Hill does get 10 starts, which would be really sad.
  16. Also should add the Fantasy Challenge Dynasty League, since many members from this board are in it.
  17. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article/mlb/texas-rangers-catcher-geovany-soto-to-undergo-right-knee-surgery-out-10-12-weeks?ymd=20140324&content_id=70007540&vkey=news_mlb Soto out for 10-12 weeks. Looks like JPA will be the starter in Texas now - ouch.
  18. They have horrible beer selection at the RC. I'm shocked they don't have any local Ontario stuff like Mill St, Beau's, Muskoka, Flying Monkey's etc. The only good beer they have now is this German beer and Sapporo. I only have one when I go to the games. People that buy 3-4 beers per game are nuts to spend $40 when you can buy a whole case for less lol.

  20. I said I would take the Rangers moving forward as well; even with the Choo and Fielder contract. As for comparing both teams this season, I'd probably take the Jays lineup over the Rangers. Pitching wise, the Rangers have question marks since Holland is injured, though I'd still obviously take a rotation of Darvish, Perez and whoever else they have.
  21. I would probably take the Jays lineup right now over the current Rangers lineup. Profar missing 10-12 weeks really hurts and could be a huge loss. Reyes, Cabrera, Bautista, EE, Rasmus, Lawrie, Lind, Navarro, Goins vs. Choo, Andrus, Beltre, Fielder, Rios, Moreland, Martin, Soto, Rosales As for pitching, obviously the Rangers have a younger and more talented pitching staff. Darvish is a beast, Holland when healthy is fantastic, Martin Perez, Ogando, Harrison, Robbie Ross, etc. Currently, the Rangers rotation does have its question marks after Darvish & Perez. They have Joe Saunders and Tommy Hanson listed in their rotation, and Scheppers as the No. 2 guy. I wouldn't be shocked to see the Rangers get lucky with a reclamation project they just signed like Tommy Hanson, but I don't expect much from him. As for the BP, I'd say the Jays and Rangers are both a wash. Long term, I still prefer the Rangers with Darvish, Holland, and Perez locked up into their rotation and guys like Profar, Andrus at the MLB level and Gallo, Luke Jackson, Odor, and Alfaro coming up through the system. However, they will have two awful contracts in the next 2-3 years that will be immovable in Choo and Fielder, who likely will impact their payroll. Beltre is getting older, Rios is gone obviously when he's a FA, Martin isn't anything special in CF, and they don't have a great catcher that could bridge them to Alfaro. The Jays will have a bunch of contracts off the books after 2015/2016 with Dickey, EE, Bautista, and MB. They still have Reyes locked up through 2017, and Lawrie will still be under control. Pitching wise, you expect Hutch, Stroman and Sanchez up with the big club, unless they are traded and hopefully the Jays strike with someone like Nay, Osuna, Norris, Davis etc.
  22. Reported the idiot who made the Kevin Frandsen thread.
  23. I'm sure the Rangers sign Stephen Drew or go after Danny Espinosa through trade.
