  1. If Chacin is available in the waiver draft, I'd definitely consider taking him. As for talking out of my ass, do some research Mr. Know It All! Chacin was solid in 2010, 2011 and 2013, and considering his age and upside, he was a valuable asset. I had managers asking about him during and after 2013 - even in another 20-team dynasty league with 40 man rosters. Sure his value has slipped tremendously this season with performance and injuries, though I'd be willing to roll the dice on him if he's available in the waiver draft.
  2. Yup, Chacin was ranked 196th last season and I'm sure he was higher in 2010 and 2011.
  3. Before the 2014 season, I'm sure everyone in this league would have taken Chacin over Shoemaker. I'm saying if healthy, Chacin has a good live arm and could possibly be a better asset moving forward.
  4. I'm not sticking up for anybody. I'm just expressing my opinions. Shoemaker came out of nowhere this season as a 28-year-old and I'm not sure he'll continue with that success moving forward. Chacin has had several successful years in the bigs already, and is two years younger. Depends on your strategy and personal preferences. If I'm competing, I'd probably roll the dice on Shoemaker since he's coming off a better season and pitches on a better team. If Chacin is healthy, I've always liked his arm.
  5. I'd still take Miller over Shoemaker even if I'm contending.
  6. To each's own. Miller and Perez for sure - they are younger, have higher upside and have had success at a younger age at the big league level. Griffin, if healthy in Oakland is a solid starter, and Chacin is just a year removed from a 4.4 WAR season in Colorado. Considering that all those guys are younger, have higher upside, and have had more success than Shoemaker, I think I'd take any of those 4 over him.
  7. Yeah a healthy Griffin definitely. I'd be on the fence with Chacin, though his 2013 season was solid - 4.4 WAR and he's only 26 still. If he's healthy, I've always liked his arm.
  8. I've seen a lot worse teams managed in dynasty over six years, and thats from regular and active posters on this board. Not going to name names, though I wouldn't be worried on how Gibbers operates his team especially only after two years.
  9. I'd take Shelby Miller, Martin Perez, a healthy Chacin and Griffin over Shoemaker.
  10. I'd take his team over yours easily. At least he several young talented assets on his MLB roster instead of just Matt Harvey and Oscar Taveras.

  13. Gibbers didn't even make a trade though...this came from talking about Donaldson.

Derozan won't get $25 M a year lol. As for Amir demanding $12-15 M per season, then I'd say the Raps go in a different direction at PF. I like Amir, though they could easily replace his production at a lot less. Patrick Patterson!

Did anyone get NBA 2k15? It's awesome!
  16. I'm looking forward to a full season of Stroman, and I expect Hutch to improve in 2015 as well. Along with Dickey and MB, who might not be aces, though at least they are durable and can provide 200 + quality innings. Happ looks like a solid No. 5 starter, and with Sanchez and Norris in the wings, the rotation has a lot of depth. Likely MB and Happ are gone after 2015, so the Jays will need to fill two rotation spots, so hopefully Sanchez and Norris are those two and pan out. The Jays have a young, cheap and controllable rotation moving forward which is a plus. I feel more comfortable signing a big FA bat to a 5-year contract over a big FA pitcher. EE and Bautista are two elite bats - and I'm sure not many teams have 3-4 hitters like Bautista and EE. Reyes can be better, no doubt. And if Lawrie stays healthy, he'll provide value. And who knows if Pompey explodes? I don't mind Gose in CF since he provides a lot of value with his defense. And like you said, there are solid contributors in the fold like Lind, Cecil, Happ, Loup etc - if the Jays add more solid contributors, at second or third base, in left field, in the bullpen and strengthen their bench with guys who can hit and have versatility, then 2015 doesn't look all that bad. It's a solid roster mix they have.
  17. Agreed, though I'm sure hitting at the RC is better than hitting at Safeco...last time I checked.
  18. Yeah I recall Wheeler and Kane were taking quite high during the draft. Wasn't Wheeler taken at the end of the first round? That's absurd.
  19. At least he has a strategy, compared to some other managers which don't.
  20. As for Donaldson, I don't think the Jays could afford moving all those young pieces for him. They still have plenty of holes on their roster and will even have more come 2016. Depleting what is already a weak farm and with the tight payroll constraints they already have, I don't see a deal like this working.
  21. That's a solid young core he has, better than some other teams in the DDL. I'm sure Chris moves Harrison in the offseason and adds more young pieces to that talented group.
