Pretty sad how some posters on here have disregarded one of the all-time greats in this game. I'm not a Yankees fan or a Derek Jeter fan, though he has been an ambassador for baseball over the past two decades. He's had a great career, and was a professional every step of the way. You can't say that about every baseball player, let alone athlete. I'm glad I witnessed his last game in the Bronx. Like I said, if you can't appreciate what just happened tonight, your not a baseball fan.

I don't think you could have made a better script of what just happened tonight. I'm glad I watched the game tonight, definitely something that was awesome. If you're a baseball fan, you can't deny how cool tonight was.

How can you not be romantic about baseball?

He's going to earn close to $40 million to date once he becomes a FA in 2017. 500K for him and other MLB players isn't much.

After watching his first AB tonight, it's hard not to be romantic about baseball. I know Jeter was overrated, though he had a tremendous career and was a class act during his entire time with the Bronx Bombers. Sure I think media, other teams have overblown this farewell tour, though why blame Jeter? He's playing like a professional and going about his business. He's been an icon for baseball over the past two decades.

I'm sure if Jeter wore a Jays jersey, all you guys would be fapping off like no tomorrow.
