  1. Yeah I still wasn't crazy for that trade at the time. Teo's bat could have been useful in 2023 and with him still being here, that maybe gives the Jays an advantage to re-sign him to a contract extension. As well, if Teo signed a contract extension after the 2023 season, likely the Jays don't go out and sign Santander to a 5-year -deal like they did during the offseason. But anyways, who knows what would have happened. But never a fan of trading a solid everyday player for a reliever.
  2. Once guys like Yimi and Sandlin get back, either have to give Green a phantom IL stint or DFA him. Don't want him pitching in high leverage spots late in games.
  3. Let Civale build up his trade value. Pitching with the Blue Jays bats heating up, gold glove defense behind him and rock solid BP, he'll rack up some wins and Atkins could likely squeeze another team for more at the trade deadline. 4D Chess!
  4. Yeah Jays need to navigate through these next couple of weeks to the All-Star break. If Civale costs nothing to add, definitely worth adding and giving him a couple starts. Rotation depth is never a bad thing and you never know if another arm goes down at some point. At the deadline, would like to aim higher, but that is never a guarantee and the prices definitely will be higher for a top SP. Like Max's idea of re-acquiring Kikuchi if the Angels make him available. Would be a perfect fit in this rotation. Kind of wish the Jays were able to bring him back last offseason again.
  5. Yeah Jobe never looked right at all this season. You figured something was up.
  6. Blue Jays odds went from 1.80 to 2.10 now I guess with Vladdy out of the lineup. Haha.
  7. Winning definitely makes things better and everyone to be happier around here! At the end of the day, the front office is responsible for the product on the field. Yes there is always bad luck or injuries that come into play. Jays have had a really nice stretch recently and its what they needed to get back into the thick of things. Let's hope it can continue through the end of June and into July. Bullpen has been vastly better in comparison to last season which I think has been the difference maker. Hoffman has been a real solid signing so far, Little has been huge, Yariel looks more and more comfortable in a bullpen role, and guys like Fluharty, Schultz, and Fisher from Buffalo have really done a solid job filling in for some of the injured pen arms. As for Lauer, he was definitely a nice minor league signing as a depth arm who has had success at the MLB level before. Still have guys like Yimi, Sandlin and Burr on the IL. Definitely a good problem to have. As for the lineup, you can tell there has been a different philosophy this season. We're seeing Kirk have huge success offensively, Springer has been healthy and has his bounce back, Barger looks like he can be a 25-30 HR bat who can play 3B or a corner OF spot, Varsho was hitting for power when he was healthy, and guys like Lukes, and Straw have held their own filling in for some injured guys. Bo has been solid this season and healthy which is key, but definitely would love to see more from him offensively. Would be nice to see him returning to being a 120ish wRC+ bat. As for Vladdy, he's been solid as well, but for $500M you still expect way better numbers offensively. Still some areas that the team could improve in, but overall they're in a really good spot and with another big addition or two at the trade deadline, this team looks capable of going on a deep Postseason run.
  8. Jays were a bit over even money yesterday before the game, which was great value. Today they're paying a $1.80 last time I checked for money line.
  9. He wasn't haha. I was flying in first class actually 😅
  10. Joe Siddall was on my flight last night haha.
  11. Jays were out partying on the town late last night. It's a getaway day as well.
  12. Sunny day here in Minny! Game Two here we go! Target Field is awesome! Definitely recommend to make the trip down here!
  13. Weather here has cleared up. Sun is out and air quality is better than Toronto haha
  14. Got my seat. Sitting in their version of the TD Clubhouse seats on Level 200 behind home plate, first row.
  15. Yikes just saw as well! Huge break for the Jays! At least Scherzer is just a one-year deal at the end of the day.
  16. Started to rain here a bit. Shouldn’t last for that long! Hopefully its a dry evening!
  17. So Gausman vs Ryan tomorrow. Should be a great matchup!
