  1. Haha got to tweet Mike Wilner the link to this thread.
  2. Adam Eaton would be a great fit, though no chance in hell the White Sox trade him.
  3. I've seen numbers like $70 + million thrown around when mentioning Reddick on this board. Pretty expensive for a platoon bat.
  4. JD went the opposite way quite a bit in the Cleveland series.
  5. I'd feel more comfortable using Chapman as how Cleveland used Andrew Miller in the postseason then Jansen. Is there any reliever like that who could be acquired via trade?
  6. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-blue-jays-should-rebuild/
  7. He definitely can get a 4th year, wouldn't shock me in this market. Though he's not a guy I'd feel comfortable with handing that type of money to + a top draft pick. He likely won't produce another season close to 5 WAR again. He struggled a bit offensively in the second half of this season and he does strikeout a lot. Though yeah, I think he'd be a great fit for the top of the lineup in terms of what he brings to the table: switch-hitter, gap power, gets on-base, can play all 3 outfield positions, and can lead-off.
  8. Did anyone read the Dave Cameron article on Fangraphs?
  9. I think on a contending team with veterans like the Blue Jays have, Gibbons' laid back personality is definitely a positive. I guess this is a sign that the Jays will be all-in again for 2017. If they were going to do a short rebuild and retool for 2018, then I think Gibbons should be gone.
  10. Yeah I can't see Fowler getting 4/72. More like 3 for 45 or 50 etc. with an option tacked on. He's going to be 31 next season. Fowler would be a great addition to this squad though. Switch-hitter, can play CF or RF, and would be an awesome leadoff hitter who could get on-base and has gap power. Hopefully Tulo can do some recruiting this offseason.
  11. Just need to focus on tomorrow. Looking ahead, the Jays could still take this series to a Game 7 though their lineup needs to produce and can't waste opportunities (which they did even today at times). The Jays need to score a bunch of runs early tomorrow in order to avoid facing Miller and Allen in the late innings. They have the right guy on the mound tomorrow in Estrada.
  12. Blue Jays fans are pretty classless. Most casuals just go to the games to get buzzed.
  13. Miller's contract is a huge bargain. As good as they are, I wouldn't hand Chapman or Jansen $20M for 5 years.
  14. If anyone wants to go to the game tomorrow night, I could sell my single. Sec 126, Row 28. Will sell for face value ($245). If not then I don't mind going down.
  15. Yeah send me a PM.
  16. Jonah Keri is staying at the same hotel I'm staying at apparently. Same with Shi Davidi. Wonder if the Jays are staying there as well haha.
  17. Not much of a selection even back on Tuesday when I was looking. And the ones that were available were pretty expensive, around $250 per night. Unless you just booked a private room.
  18. It's going to be 18 on Friday and 23 on Saturday in Cleveland this weekend.
  19. Yeah just travelling. I went last November. Got myself a JR Pass and went all over. Tokyo wasn't that expensive as I thought it was going to be. I stayed at a brand new hotel in Shinjuku for $150 CAD per night. Other smaller cities weren't that expensive like you said. Hotels in Kyoto though were expensive and there was very limited availability when I was there, though that was the only exception. Even when in Japan, food and drinks aren't that expensive which was a nice bonus as well. And the food was fricking awesome!
  20. Hotels are what make travelling expensive. It's kind of ridiculous that these hotels can charge that much just for a place to sleep & shower. You would even think with the prices they expect people to pay that they'd offer free breakfast every morning etc. You can sometimes get good deals when travelling during low season. Some cities are more expensive than others however. Good luck trying to find a hotel downtown in NYC or San Fran at $120 per night. I find accommodations in some U.S. cities are sometimes more expensive then travelling to places in Europe or elsewhere. When I was in Japan, some cities like Nagasaki and Kanazawa, the hotels I stayed at were between $80-90 CAD per night and they were in good areas of the city and pretty modern.
  21. I'm glad I picked up tickets from the official site. Still expensive when you do the USD/CAD conversion, though if I bought the same seats on StubHub, with fees they'd come out close to $800 USD, which is basically 1K CAD.
  22. Yeah I had an extra pair for Game 3 last season and maybe only made $30-40 more on them. If a pair costs $500 face value already, its going to be hard to find people paying around $800 for those tickets. Even squeezing out $600 of someone would be tough. Everyone seriously wants to be a scalper these days. Its not worth the aggravation or stress to unload expensive tickets I find. Tried that with the Blue Jays last postseason and the Raptors during the playoffs in May. It's not worth it. That's why I'll only buy an extra pair of tickets if its a Wildcard game or Game 7 if I plan on reselling them, because you know they'll be in high demand.
  23. Good plan. I bought tickets to all ALCS games last season, and I regret spending $230 face value for my seats for Game 4 & 5 when I could have bought them between $100-150 USD. The afternoon games really kill value and it'll be even worse if the Jays are down lets say 2-1 or 3-1.
