  1. If David Wright never plays again, wouldn't his contract be insured and the Mets would be off the hook? I took that into consideration when suggesting them. If not, then it definitely makes it a lot tougher and unlikely. Mets could use Machado either at 3B or SS and they're a big market team that has made big FA signings before. Still think the Yankees are favourites and make the most sense however.
  2. Was just shooting names off the top of my head. And to think Chris Davis was going to be a 7 WAR player again would have been crazy. Howard is a good example, completely forgot about him.
  3. Machado will sign with either the Yankees or the Mets.
  4. All power sluggers with high strikeout totals like Chris Davis never age well and are never the greatest at being consistent from season to season. So many examples like Jay Bruce, Trumbo, Mark Reynolds, Chris Carter etc. Only guy I could think of who was consistent during his prime was Adam Dunn, though he just fell off a cliff after the age of 30.
  5. Already know what MLB Network's coverage is going to consist of tonight. Harold Reynolds and Peter Gammons saying after every pick: "That kid has all the tools and is going to be a stud."
  6. Is this the first manager this league ever had to replace?
  7. Yeah I read they increased the ticket prices this year for the Jays series. Even Seattle hotels I heard were crazy expensive this weekend. Seattle is a cool city, but it's quite expensive overall. Even when I went last September, accommodations during the week were worse than NYC. Had to settle for an AirBNB private room, which was great though still expensive ($150 CAD per night).
  8. lol you shouldn't have a problem getting tickets via StubHub or Vivid Seats. Even the box office as well, but might not have the greatest selection.

    NBA Thread

The NBA Playoffs have been pretty boring. Other than the Washington/Boston series, every other series has been dull.
  10. If anyone is still thinking about going down to Chicago in August for the Cubs/Jays series, I could sell my tickets to all 3 games. Not looking to make a profit, so will sell them for face value. These are my seats: Friday: Sec 427, Row 6 Saturday: Sec 216, Row 17 Sunday: Bleachers (General Admission)
  11. He already has the past 3 seasons.
  12. He was like a late round draft pick for me in the DDL, maybe even in the first June draft we had if I recall. Remember drafting him when he was with the Tigers. It's fun watching someone develop & mature after taking a flier on them in one of the late rounds of a draft. Drafted Daniel Hudson back in 2009 in another league like with a 5th round pick and it was fun watching him over his first two years. Ray definitely doesn't get that much love in the baseball world in comparison to other arms.
  13. Robbie Ray is awesome! Love owning him in the DDL.
  14. Did anyone start him in fantasy baseball tonight?
  15. I'll drop these guys since they suck: Loan Lopez Ronald Guzman David Martinelli Devin Williams
  16. Ok thanks. I'll get my cuts in later today then. Shouldn't be that difficult lol.
  17. Sucked not having Bum & Price both healthy, though my team overall has been keeping its head above water in the standings thus far with a very mediocre pitching staff which I had to piece together with FA pickups.

  19. Never got any e-mails or notifications about a deadline. Would I still be able to get my cuts in?
  20. Just hit me the draft is fast approaching. When do we have to make our prospect cuts by?
  21. Could trade a couple of pieces and shake up my team a bit. Here are some of the names I could be interested in moving: CF Justin Upton OF Yasiel Puig 3B Evan Longoria 2B/3B Ryan Schimpf 3B Matt Davidson 2B/SS/3B Jorge Polanco
  22. Back from my travels, so sorry if I haven't responded to any PM's from before. Open to trading in all my leagues.
  23. I think Pillar could scratch out 20 HR's one season. Doubt he does it consistently year in & out, though I see him having a 20 HR season at some point, most likely this season.
  24. Yeah should have haha. Sometimes it's just better doing 1 for 1 deals. When you add extra pieces, it messes things up. If Freeman was still healthy, would have been a blockbuster that worked out for both sides. I think Marwin could be a 20-25 HR bat this season. He's displayed some decent pop & speed in the past and he's improved his BB%. Likely finishes in the .260/.350/.470 range which is still pretty solid. Still a valuable piece to have since he's eligible at every position except pitcher & catcher lol.
  25. I believe it was also involving Freeman & Sale if I'm not mistaken, and I was asking if there was anyway to get Bautista in the deal as well and thats where things fell apart regarding that 3rd player swap. Hindsight yeah I should have done the deal since Gyorko has been rock solid so far and Freeman is now on the DL. At the time though Gyorko wasn't a sure thing (even after his 2016 season he still had some question marks). As a LOD owner, I'm happy though so far so can't complain. Probably wouldn't have Marwin Gonzalez right now in the DDL if I did have Gyorko since I picked up Gonzalez when he was still hitting .150 something due to Tulo hitting the DL so I kind of lucked into that free agent pickup.
