  1. Probably could be had on a 1 year deal with a club option at most for 2019. As long as you guarantee him a spot in the rotation on Opening Day, there is a good chance he could be resigned. I don't mind having him as a No. 5 starter (could do worse). The Blue Jays better make sure they have a decent arm waiting in the wings (Biagini, or someone else in AAA) that could pitch in case Anderson hits the DL. Teams won't be lining up to sign Anderson, so I don't see it tough bringing him back especially if you guarantee him a spot in the rotation. Liriano is a FA as well. Even bringing him back on a cheap 1 year deal as a No. 5 starter wouldn't be the worst thing.
  2. I'll give Miggy a mulligan on this season. He wasn't 100% and has been one of the best hitters in the MLB for the past decade. Sure he could be slowing down, as every aging slugger does, though I wouldn't completely write him off just yet after one bad injury-plagued season. If he continues to be below replacement level again in 2018, then we can make that argument. Regardless, the contract even at the time when it was handed out likely was a mistake and there was a good chance that the latter part of the deal was going to be like throwing money out the window. So even then, there was the potential for it to be the worst contract in baseball.
  3. Relievers come out of nowhere all the time. Shows you that sometimes you don't need to spend so much money on middle relievers. Jays have always done a good job at developing cheap BP arms. Might be a bullpen piece for 2018.
  4. Bruce could probably hit 35-40 HR's playing half his games at the Rogers Centre and would add some nice balance to this lineup from the left side. He's a very streaky hitter though. He'll have his hot streaks, though his cold streaks could be downright ugly. Defensively he is a liability, though I could live with him in left field I suppose if he hits for power. Can't be any worse than Carrera/Pearce defensively. He probably won't cost that much this offseason if last season was any indicator for power hitters. I wouldn't have a problem if the Jays signed Bruce this offseason.
  5. Wasn't able to see Otani when I was in Japan during the spring unfortunately. Saw a Fighters/Tigers game at the end of my trip, though he was still out with an injury. Managed to buy an Otani jersey when I was in Sapporo though, so that was cool!
  6. How much could JD Martinez get as a FA this offseason?
  7. .303/.401/.606 and 20 HR's at Coors vs. .235/.310/.391 and 9 HR's away from Coors
  8. 100% agree. He could all of a sudden turn into Lyle Overbay again one season. Wouldn't surprise me.
  9. Free agent year. I wouldn't hand Hosmer a huge contract expecting seasons of 140 wRC+'s moving forward.
  10. Where's this place in Pittsburgh?
  11. If the Mets are healthy, could possibly see Thor pitch against the Jays which would be cool. If the Marlins keep Stanton, it'll be fun watching his at-bats. Braves & Phillies meh, though at least they shouldn't be that difficult opponents.
  12. You can always go to PNC. The Blue Jays not playing there shouldn't stop you. It's only a 6 hr drive from Toronto.
  13. Good luck Spanky. Hope all goes well and that you have a quick recovery!
  14. Not sure the Rangers would do that. Profar though does make sense as a super utility guy who you could give 300-400 AB's to between 2B/SS/3B and OF. In case Travis & Tulo miss significant time again next season, I'd rather give Profar AB's over Goins or Barney. At least with Profar there is some unrealized potential. Might be the next Tim Beckham with a change of scenery.
  15. I listed my keepers the other day in this thread.
  16. I'll probably drop Conner Bleackley (C - COL) prospect from my farm system if we need to cut down this list as well. Have 9 spects including him, though don't want my 2nd round to go to waste.
  17. I love my Vladimir Poutine name already haha. But yeah if I come up with something good involving Kane and Laine, would change.
  18. My 15 keepers at the moment. Debating on my last spot, which might change. 1) Patrick Kane - RW 2) Patrick Laine - RW 3) David Pastrnak - RW 4) Alex Galchenyuk - C, LW 5) Gabriel Landeskog - LW 6) Ryan O'Reilly - C 7) Matt Duchene - C,RW 8) Rasmus Ristolainen - D 9) Justin Schultz - D 10) Justin Faulk - D 11) Ben Bishop - G 12) Scott Darling - G 13) Jimmy Howard - G 14) Antti Raanta - G 15) Dmitry Orlov - D
  19. How many prospects can we keep?
  20. Both Bud Norris and Jay Bruce got activated today for my LOD team, though by time I came home this afternoon, the Angels/A's game already started so even after making two drops, I couldn't get Jay Bruce into my lineup for tonight ugh.
  21. It's stupid that they have afternoon games like this on a Wednesday. Peeves me off for reasons you stated.
  22. I really don't care. Two other members voiced concerns, so I thought I would chime in as well though instead I'm attacked and made the bad guy here. I agree with Silvergun that since we've never had this issue arise before, NJH should just make a final decision. Whatever he decides, I'm fine with.
  23. Last time I checked, you did a lot of that a while ago.
