  1. Solid FIP numbers still and one year removed from posting a 1.1 WAR season and a 13.34 K/9. As a middle reliever who is like 5th/6th on your BP depth charts, not bad. On a one-year deal worth $3-4M wouldn't be a bad gamble. I would aim higher at the back end of the BP, though if money is limited to signing bats and another SP, have to look at some cheap BP options. Cubs just resigned Phil Maton to a two-year deal. Not sure what the AAV is.
  2. Both arms offer some nice K upside and have had success before. Definitely could be decent cheap middle relief options.
  3. Some interesting names non-tendered: - JJ Bleday - Adolis Garcia - Ian Hamilton - Mark Leiter Jr. - Evan Phillips - Ramon Urias
  4. Braves ranked #2 on that list wow. I guess if they're healthy, they can go back to being one of the top teams in the NL. Tough division still with the Phillies and Mets. Twins are ranked quite high at 12th and same with the Cards at 19th. The Guardians/Reds are both quite low at 25th and 26th respectively, given the success they had this season. Jays are bunched in with a lot of evenly matched teams, though I would show them some more respect and rank them around 6/7, not 9th. Awful list to be honest.
  5. I'm a big AA fanboy, you know that!
  6. Raisel Iglesias off the board. Back in Atlanta for one-year at $16M.
  7. That Rockies 2018 team was actually pretty good haha. Arenado and Story were elite. They had Blackmon still who was offensive force. Dahl looked like he could have been something special with the bat. On the pitching side, their rotation was actually solid with Marquez and Freeland having 4 WAR seasons lol. Rockies in 2007 were a fun team to watch. The days when they had Matt Holiday, Tulo, Atkins, Helton, Spilly, Hawpe and Ubaldo haha.
  8. Yup that's baseball. Orioles in 2024 were a 91 win team. They can easily go from being a 75-win team as they were in 2025 to a 90-win team next season with some good luck, health, rotation upgrades and young players taking a next step forward.
  9. He likes to flip flop and writes guys off all the time. If Holliday goes out and has a 4-5 WAR season, he'll start saying the opposite.
  10. I'm not an Orioles fanboy, but they can be a team that goes from last to first in the AL East with all that young talent they have. They're not your typical cellar dweller like the Rockies, White Sox or Pirates. On the pitching side, yes they need to add at least one or two elite starters. If they do and the rest of the team stays healthy, they could be a sneaky team to watch out for in 2026.
  11. In LOD, your team was clearly one of the better teams and mine was one rebuilding. Plus I remember that week, most of my bats were injured, so you had a clear advantage. I think I deserved some odds there and its not like I asked for much. As for FC, DDL and BORED, I've never asked for odds since our teams are pretty even.
  12. In LOD, yes I did. Other leagues, were straight up bets.
  13. They probably think G-Rod is damaged goods to pull this kind of trade. Taylor Ward probably fits Orioles Park well, especially with the left-field wall being moved in. Gives them a 30+ HR bat, though comes with a low BA and OBP. Likely looking at another 2-3 WAR season. Solid, but nothing special. Like some others have said on here, wouldn't surprise me if the Angels spent money this offseason, to try and get back to relevance and compete with the other LA team somewhat.
  14. Oh now you bet. When I want a friendly $20 bet during our fantasy sports matchups, you're the punani!
  15. If the Jays did sign Woodruff, I would save him for the second half and the Postseason. Sign Bassitt for $15M to start games from April - August/September. Gausman, Bieber, Yesavage, Bassitt, Berrios is your rotation out of the gate. Lauer, Francis, Varland (if they stretch him out), Lucas, + a couple of MiLB signing are all depth. Bring Woodruff along where he is ready to start after the All-Star break or in August. Bassitt moves back to the pen in the Postseason. Boom. Your rotation includes Woodruff, Gausman, Yesavage and Bieber. Not bad at all.
  16. Yeah I've read some things about how the Dodgers saved their top SP arms and didn't push them too hard until later on in the season. Wonder if was part of the plan from Day 1 and there were some phantom IL stints for the sake of it. They saved up everyone for the Postseason and that's why we saw guys like Snell, Glasnow and Ohtani deal for them before the World Series lol. Yamamoto was their only starter who made 30 starts during the regular season.
  17. They definitely need a shortstop, and if Bo is so set on playing at shortstop for the duration of his contract, Braves are probably one of the few teams that could accommodate him. Atlanta also has some money to spend this offseason and if their core is healthy, they can be World Series contenders.
  18. Cease had a 4.55 ERA pitching in Petco Park. C'mon guys!
  19. Nice read. Amongst MLB players, there is always the allure to play for a team like the Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers or Cubs. You can likely throw the Mets in that group now as well, since they're spending money. Toronto after this season is definitely a top destination for free agents. Given the new upgrades at the Rogers Centre, the Postseason run they went on, the job ownership and the front office have done in creating the culture like they have, a lot of players now will consider Toronto. While the cost of living here is high, it's not as expensive as New York, Boston, LA or San Fran. Plus the USD goes a long way up here. As for weather, baseball is played during the spring/summer and fall, so its not like players live up her during the winter lol. The only awful month is April, but it's no different than weather in New York, Boston or Chicago at that time of year. Teams like Houston, Texas, and Arizona definitely have an advantage on low-cost of living and with income taxes. The teams in Florida also have that advantage, but the Rays and Marlins aren't really top destinations for free agents given their ballparks and payroll situation.
  20. I see the appeal regarding Iglesias with the short term deal. He's going to be 36 next season, so age could be a concern but if on a one or two-year deal, should be alright. He did bump up his K rate from 2024 which is encouraging. Would prefer going after someone like Devin Williams if he only requires a 2 or 3 year deal with some options attached. Even after his worst season, still posted a 1.4 fWAR, and 13.06 K/9 and he's still just 30. He offers the most upside. Diaz will be expensive and not sure I would want to allocate all that AAV and years towards a closer. Not a huge fan of Suarez unless he comes on a short term deal as well, given his age. Helsley could also be interesting on a short term deal. Kenley Jansen likely would sign a one-year deal, though his K rates and FIP went in the wrong direction this past season. Unless you get the Kenley from 2024, but not sure.
  21. Williams could be a good bargain possibly. Pretty much before this season, he was almost on the same level as Diaz when it came to elite relievers. You can probably sign him for less term which is also a plus.
