  1. Yeah it's annoying. Getaway days for teams who played on Monday I suppose. Really you only get majority of night games on Monday and Tuesday now. Kind of sucks. Don't recall it ever being this bad. You would have Thursday afternoon games usually.
  2. Longoria was still a solid player even during his later years with the Rays. Overall since 2008 his rookie season, he provided 48.1 WAR during his time with the Rays. They just shipped him off to the Giants at the right time.
  3. White Sox did win the World Series in 2005, with a very solid team. They had maybe a few decent years after as well. But they've also had a lot of awful seasons thrown in there. Rays have been perennial contenders with one of the lowest payrolls in baseball since 2008. Overall, the Rays are a far better organization in terms of drafting, scouting and player development. White Sox don't compare.
  4. I'm shocked Paul Konerko never got a $100 million contract from them back in the day haha. But yeah they did mostly focus on short term contracts for free agents and vets. In the mid 2000's, Jermaine Dye, Jose Contreras, El Duque, Jim Thome etc. Most of their talent developed, they never signed to long term deals before they became FA's or they traded them before free agency like Chris Sale.
  5. Great start from Berrios last night. Hope to see more consistency and starts like that moving forward from him. If so, Jays rotation will be in great shape even if Manoah does s*** the bed. My bold prediction: Berrios will out WAR Manoah looks good right now!
  6. I bet the Rays on Money Line last night, so I'm 1-1 now since starting to bet them. Hope the trend continues! Taking one for my bank account!
  7. Nothing wrong with the Teo deal from a controllability perspective. If Swanson is a 1-2 WAR reliever per season and if Macko becomes something, Jays win. Teo is a FA after this season so only thing that might make them regret moving him is if he goes out and has a 5-6 WAR season which is unlikely. If he only has a 2-3 WAR season, not going to regret anything.
  8. Nice! Glad they had a blast an enjoyed the game. When I was younger as well, would go line up to get the bobbleheads they were giving away. Lineups weren't as bad back in the 2000s as they are now.
  9. Nah, those prices are unrealistic. They won't be getting $100.
  10. This should guarantee getting one and being the first to use the restrooms inside the ballpark before everyone else.
  11. Brandon League in 2006 was dynamite.
  12. I'd rather buy the bobblehead from someone on FB Marketplace or Kijiji for like $40-$50 in a couple of weeks or at the end of the season.
  13. Yeah those jerseys likely don't even cost $10 to make. Cheap material and not official at all. Not worth waiting in line 3 hours before the game IMO.
  14. Yeah I think it's a good deal for Reynolds to take now like you said. If he becomes a FA at 31 and as a corner OF, likely won't be a huge market for him, unless he is posting 6 WAR seasons consistently.
  15. Yeah Ohtani likely signs with the Dodgers. Second favourites would be the Mets or Yankees. Maybe the Mariners or Red Sox are sleepers.
  16. All you need is to get a spot in the Playoffs and anything can happen. My team last season wasn't one of the elite teams but won 2 rounds and pushed BTS that final week if I recall.
  17. Yeah don't know why he's selling either. Havok24 has a winning record thus far and has really some solid core pieces.
  18. I'll go with Varsho again
  19. Yeah they're a tough team to watch because you want to root for them to do well and make the Postseason though it's the same thing every season with them. We'll never see Trout and Ohtani in the Postseason together in the same uniform which is such a huge disappointment from a fans perspective.
  20. Ohtani definitely walks.

I'm a rational Leafs fan and hope they go far in the Playoffs this year. Are they Stanley Cup caliber? If they can beat Boston, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. I have a Graboviski jersey that I bought in 2008 and supported them during the tough growing seasons when a lot of people couldn't give a rats ass about them. They made the Playoffs in 2013 and came close to beating the Bruins. Also, was a fan during the days of Sundin, Mogilny, Roberts, Tucker, Thomas, CuJo etc. Was at Game 5 in 2000 during the first round where Steve Thomas scored the OT winner against the Senators! Remember they almost came close to reaching the Stanley Cup in 2002, but ran into a hot Hurricanes team unfortunately in the Eastern Conference Finals. So don't say I'm not a Leafs or hockey fan. I'm just rational when it comes to the Leafs. And yeah in my opinion, Olympic hockey when in the later stages is better hockey. Agree to disagree. But I prefer seeing the best talent and skill on the ice.

The best in Olympic hockey is better than the best in the NHL Playoffs. It's more talent/skills on display rather than toughness/physicality. I'd rather watch the best athletes perform. NHL Playoffs are fun, not denying that. But yes by time the Stanley Cup rolls around, teams are exhausted and the best isn't on display. Your Leafs are built better for Olympic hockey than the NHL Playoffs. Enjoy tonight's win and Thursday's most likely. Bruins are going to destroy the Leafs in the next round. Hope the Leafs could beat them, but in terms of toughness, Bruins have the edge.

If Leafs could wrap this up on Thursday, would be huge even for the next series. Good to be well rested heading into Boston. Would be nice if the Panthers can sneak out a win this Wednesday haha.
  24. He did strike out 11 against the Twins in his last start. But yeah he is no longer an ace or front of the rotation starter. Doubt he even throws 150 innings for the Sox this season.
  25. He's the best! I'm watching every Spencer Strider start this season on MLB TV and buying his jersey online. Will also try to trade for him in every fantasy league.
