  2. How about all the times BTS and Laika were salivating over the Rays success all these years? I guess it's "f***ing stupid" according to you. How are they Jays fans? You should call them out. If you're a true fan of the game of baseball, you appreciate and give recognition to other organizations/teams or players when they do some things right or well. Obviously every time the Jays play the Rays or Orioles, I want the Jays to win. Though I also enjoy watching the Rays and Orioles occasionally because of their young talent, pitching etc. I don't know if I would say Baltimore is "one of the best current stories in sports" lol, though they definitely are a good story this season in baseball along with other teams like the Marlins, D'Backs and Rangers.
  3. Phillies had a great #1-2 punch in Nola and Wheeler, which I would consider one the better ones in the league while the rest of the rotation was meh. Gausman, Bassitt and Berrios should be more than fine in a short series. Would be nice to add another starter though to put this team in a better position, especially in case if one of those 3 get injured and so you don't have to start Kikuchi in the ALDS or ALCS.
  4. Atkins has been solid, not spectacular. There are things though you can criticize him and the FO on, while also giving them props for things as well. Some posters on here though don't understand that and don't allow you to criticize him on things though.
  5. Berrios looking really solid. He's been the key piece to this rotation as good as Gausman and Bassitt have been. Without Berrios pitching like a No. 2/3, Jays would be in trouble. Glad he's having a bounce back season!
  6. Great buy low opportunity!
  7. Nah, your homerism just becomes too sickening sometimes it becomes so unbearable. You're one of the most annoying posters to argue with on this message board. At least some other posters if they disagree, they can offer value to the discussion. You can't have any rational discussions or think critically when it comes to this front office. You wear blinkers 24/7 buddy.
  8. Because I'm critical or question some decisions made by this front office and because I'm not a die hard homer like Brownie? Yeah I guess I am a dumb f***. Keep sipping the Kool Aid!
  9. Lol you're in a real pissy mood today. Where did I say the Blue Jays should resign him at all costs? I said if the term and AAV are good, I wouldn't oppose bringing him back. His defensive value alone is an asset even if his bat is meh. I'll take 2.5-3 WAR from him any day.
  10. 2015 had a very strong bench: Danny Valencia - 1.3 WAR Ryan Goins - 1.3 WAR Ben Revere - 0.7 WAR Justin Smoak - 0.7 WAR Chris Collabello - 1.4 WAR Other guys included Carrera, Barney, Navarro, Pompey who were meh, but they weren't negative WAR players at least. Other seasons had strong benches and BPs as well.
  11. Of course Brownie liked this haha. It's a shame that these homers don't accept rational criticism. They're all wearing blinkers.
  12. Nice cherry picking! It's too bad they have to play games against the AL East. Imagine if there wasn't a balanced schedule, Jays would be even worse.
  13. Yeah unfortunately a lot of guys on this roster have turned into pumpkins.
  14. Offensively for sure, but he still holds great value because of his defensive abilities.
  15. Blue Jays should sign him.
  16. Vladdy pretty much has turned into a Lyle Overbay first baseman. A .280/.350/450 line is pretty disappointing when he's capable of being a .300/.400/.550 type of bat.
  17. Haven't you realized over the past 2-3 seasons under this FO, they like to ignore the bench and bullpen.
  18. I wouldn't oppose to bringing him back if the term and AAV is fair.
  19. John Schneider has his own, so Ross deserves one.
  20. Where did I make a list of showing all the misses? If you actually read my posts, I've given credit where credit is due to Atkins as well as being critical. When someone like myself criticize or question this FO, you're one of the homer posters who come out blazing to defend Ross Atkins and this front office. It doesn't matter what it is. Yeah some posters are too extreme and just complain. But when other well respected posters like myself are critical, you automatically start bringing out the pitch forks!
  21. Yeah it's frustrating that Atkins and the FO haven't been able to find these guys without having to other solid assets. The bullpen is still middle of the pack, which has been an issue the past two/three seasons, nothing elite. Their depth because of poor drafting has also hurt them. Its tough to sign a guy to be your No. 6 or 7th starter. You got to hope you have some young guys waiting in the wings who can be somewhat decent in that role if need be.
  22. Yeah Springer contract could end up looking bad if he turns into a fragile aging OF who is made of glass. I also give Atkins more credit for the optics of that contract - at the time Springer was considered the top FA that offseason and Atkins went out to show the Blue Jays mean business. So from optics, I like that move even if the contract in the later years turn bad. Showed Toronto could sign big name players and that they wanted to come here. Just hope Springer can put together a couple more 4 WAR seasons. Yeah right now, looks like the Jays dodged a bullet not offering Vladdy a huge extension. At the same time, he's failed to lock up young elite talent like AA has done with the Braves. So was just using Vladdy as an example. After 2021, if he did sign Vladdy to a team friendly extension, I bet most of this board would have been ecstatic.
  23. Someone start a Fire Ross Atkins thread.
  24. Yup you can for sure. Every GM, even the top ones make mistakes. Any rational poster understands that. At the same time, you can criticize a GM when the results aren't there or expectations haven't been met over a period of time.
