    Have 17 players on my IL. 5 of them would be regular starters in my lineup. 3 of them are top arms in my rotation. Crazy! As well, Felix Bautista leads my pitching staff with 108 K's lol.

    Yeah I read Burrow could be questionable opening weekend. I decided probably the 49ers game in mid-October. Damn hotels in Cleveland are crazy expensive - $400-500 CAD per night for something downtown. Planning on going down to Buffalo to see them play the Dolphins on Oct 1st, so wouldn't be able to see Lamar Jackson haha. Unless I see the Bills play the Raiders in Week 2 haha.

    I thought when Cavan came up, he could be similar to a Chase Utley minus the high batting average if everything went right. If Biggio can put up numbers like Danny Espinosa in 2011/2012 though with a higher OBP, probably can turn in a couple 3 WAR seasons.

    He's been hitting real well as of late and for power as well. When he starts, he's usually hitting 4th or 5th in their lineup. I traded Dane Dunning for him straight up in a 20-team dynasty league. If you need an OF with some pop, he's worth rolling the dice on. He's only 25 so that's a plus.

    I think some serious decisions will have to be made if this team does fail to make the Postseason. It is inevitable with any sports franchise if they came in with high expectations, whether in the NHL, NBA or NFL etc, and fail to make the playoffs. I don't think Atkins should be fired if the Jays missed the Postseason, but he would be on an extremely short leash with 2024 likely being his last opportunity to do something. I would hope he looks at the roster construction of this team and realizes there is something fundamentally wrong with this lineup. He'll have to make some serious changes. At the same time, I think he's replaceable so if the Jays did go that route, I'm not going to be losing sleep over it. Schneider and the coaching staff likely would get the boot first before Atkins does. If the team fails to make any noise in 2024, then Atkins is likely gone mid-season and they bring in a new face to start the mini re-build/retool. If they can't sign Bo to an extension, he's traded before he becomes a FA.

    Yeah even from watching the game tonight, I saw the Phillies had Turner hitting 6th and Realmuto hitting 7th. I was saying to myself, why aren't the Jays moving guys down in the order like Vlad or Springer who have been struggling. Vladdy shouldn't be hitting third. They need to drop him down in the lineup. Other teams like the Phillies have done that with their stars.

    I wouldn't rule them out but don't see them forking over $500M-600M+ for him. As well, I'm sure Ohtani wants to create his own legacy and have his own spotlight. Ichiro will always be remembered and entrenched in Seattle Mariners history as one of their all-time greats. I'm not sure Ohtani would want to play in the shadow of Ichiro's legacy.

    If Bautista had a couple of elite seasons before he turned 29, do you think he would be HoF worthy?

    Yeah wouldn't surprise me if he has 1-2 seasons where he only plays 50 games because of injuries. 500 for sure is reachable. 600 is doable but tough. If he plays every season until he's 40 like you said, stays healthy and hits around 30 HR's which he's capable of doing, then its a possibility. Stanton has been such a huge disappointment though. When he came up with the Marlins, thought he was going to be the next Manny. He wasn't even that old as well when he started to decline.

    Yeah I still would rank the Dodgers as the favourites given them being on the west coast and always being competitive every season. Yankees would be second favourites IMO. Like you said, if he puts on the Pinstripes, he has a chance to be seen as one of the greatest all time. Especially with that short porch, playing in a big market like New York, and playing in the same uniform as some of the All-time greats. Playing in a Yankee uniform is always prestigious.

    As a Jays fan I wouldn't want to haha. But he would be a perfect fit in Pinstripes the more I think about it.

    It's crazy how far Vladdy has fallen. He's pretty much become a .270/.330/.450 type of bat. Pretty much Garrett Cooper territory haha. Hopefully he's motivated in his FA year and has a monster season. For the Jays sake!

    Judge will be a Yankee forever. Even as he gets older, which team is going to want that contract.

    Baez has to be one of the worst contracts in baseball. Even during his glory days with the Cubs, I was never a fan. His .OBP skills have always been awful.

    Stanton has turned into a pumpkin. He's a .230/.280/.430 guy now which is awful. Only way the Yankees turn it around is if they offer huge money to Ohtani which is still a possibility. He would check off a lot of boxes - big middle of the order bat and ace pitcher. Having him and Judge in the same lineup and him with Cole paired up as a 1-2 punch would definitely be fun to watch and would make them relevant again as AL East favourites. As a Jays fan wouldn't want to see it though.

    Yeah Romano might not be as flashy as some of the other relievers or closers out there like Bautista etc. Though he's solid, reliable and has the mental makeup to pitch in the role. Even some guys with A+ stuff can't handle the closers role. Overall, in the bottom of the 9th if it's a 1-2 run game, I feel confident in him getting the job done. He definitely was a really nice find by Atkins and company, so definitely props to them for finding a closer like him!

    I'm not deleting my account after all these years because of a little dweeb like you who easily gets triggered and all pissy when someone criticizes this front office. I've been on this message board since 2004 and I never came across a poster as annoying and insufferable as you. Sure there have been some annoying trolls, but never engaged with them. But even other posters I've had disagreements with, they never were as annoying as you!

    I'm attacking people? You're always looking for any post I make to quote one certain part of it and paint me as someone who 100% hates Atkins and this FO, if I just make one criticism. You really need help because it's like you're out 24/7 scanning this message board looking to defend Atkins and this FO. Like I said, I'm done arguing back and forth with you about Atkins and this front office. You can't even offer any criticism without you getting triggered. This front office has done a tremendous job at fielding a competitive team year in and out (which I've said numerous times), though THUS FAR the team hasn't taken it to the next level. Let's see how 2023 goes if they make the Postseason and in 2024/2025 and then my judgement can change.

    Yeah agree with everything you just said. They're definitely some better 1/2 combos out there than Gausman and Berrios. Though still the Jays aren't in a bad position at all if they're your first two starters in a Postseason series. It's a good problem to have when you're discussing who should be your No. 2 and 3 starter in the Postseason versus scrambling for one. Kikuchi hasn't really done anything lately where you would move him out of the rotation. In a short series, having a lefty would be good to throw out at your opponents. If Kikuchi isn't used in the rotation, would be interesting to see if he's used as a multi-inning reliever in the pen. Would be nice to see how he does in that role before the Postseason, but sometimes you have no choice to throw guys into the fire right away.

    Not sure I would say he's an ideal legit #2, though his bounce back this season has been huge for this team. Sometimes he will get hit around a bit and have short outings, otherwise he's been a very reliable arm for the Jays. Should finish with a 3 WAR. Obviously we'll see how he performs in the Postseason against other top arms, which will be the key! I consider him a very high-end No. 3 or low end #2. Otherwise, we both agree he's been a real solid and reliable arm this year.
