  1. Glad to see Varsho starting to heat up at the plate. The Jays really need his bat down the stretch!
  2. ROAD TRIP to Baltimore! Lets go! Spanky buying everyone $18 USD beers!
  3. If Stangstag wants to share the offers or is okay with us sharing, I have no problem. I think I made a competitive offer but yeah it's not always easy moving an elite player or pitcher no matter how good the offer is.
  4. You changed your avatar!
  5. I used ChatGPT to send out offers and negotiate for me.
  6. Guys like Kirby, Miller, and Woo have already reached their career highs in innings, so it's possible they start to fade in September. We'll see.
  7. Headline at end of September: "DeJong's hot September propels Giants into the Postseason."
  8. Some team was going to pick him up for depth and insurance, especially for down the stretch. Giants usually do well with these types of pickups. Wilmer Flores, JD Davis etc.
  9. Could have used Judge now lol.
  10. I'll go with Belt
  11. I'm going to bet the Orioles tonight. If the Jays win, I'll be happy which will ease the burden of losing a couple of dollars. If the Orioles win, I'll be sad the Jays lost but at least the winnings will heal the wounds.
  12. $18 USD is even more than what they charge at the Rogers Centre. Crazy!
  13. Beer prices go from $10 to $15 now.

Raptors are going to suck this year. 30-35 wins max.
  15. It's safe to bet the Mariners now on Bet365!
  16. Imagine if Ray was healthy this season as well. That's one fantastic rotation.
  17. Kerry Carpenter with another HR tonight. That's 7 home runs in 10 games. Crazy!
  18. If nobody claims him, he could be sent to Buffalo?
  19. Looking to make a big splash for a No. 1/2 starter. Open to adding a big bat as well, but prefer a top arm. If I was adding a bat, would like it to be a SS or CF. Also, wouldn't mind adding a C who is playing more than d'Arnaud if a deal is out there. Can move any of the following players, prospects and picks: 1B Vinnie Pasquantino 1B/OF Ryan O'Hearn 2B/3B David Schneider SS Zach Neto CF Lars Nootbaar C Ivan Herrera C Edgar Quero 3B Mark Vientos SP Robbie Ray SP Quinn Priester SP Jared Shuster 1st Round Pick 2nd Round Pick 3rd Round Pick
  20. He only moved one of them lol.
  21. If they don't resign any of their top young players to extensions, they likely will have a 4-5 year window of being competitive still before they all become FA's. This year with everything clicking, they should have added more at the deadline, especially another top starter. They should have went after Verlander or Mad Max at least. Things from year-to-year can change in baseball. Players regress, get injured and miss significant time etc. Need to take advantage now, not 3-4 years down the road when these guys will almost be FAs.
  22. That's a nice blazer he's wearing. Chris Davis knows his fashion.
  23. Lmao! Geez you seem so irritated, chill man! I'm not going to waste my time going back and forth with you arguing about which player is better, DeJong or Espinal haha. But I'll say my two cents. Both players suck and shouldn't be starters. Espinal offensively doesn't provide much value if he's in the lineup everyday. Not saying DeJong is leap and bounds way better, but DeJong could at least hit for some pop. Sucks DeJong wasn't able to hit during his short stint here but it was a small sample size. If Bo was out for an extended period of time, I would rather have DeJong hitting 8th or 9th and in the field everyday instead of Espinal. DeJong was worth 1.5 WAR with the Cards before the trade, so he was having a pretty solid year. Espinal has been a negative WAR player all year. Espinal had options so I would have kept DeJong around a bit longer in case an injury to their infield pops up or if Bo tweaks something again. Regardless, I'm not going to lose any sleep over either player.
  24. Yeah gotta hope they at least go 10-5 minimum against those teams in that 15 game stretch. Cleveland always plays the Jays tough. Nationals aren't a huge pushover (7-3 in their last 10). Colorado, Oakland and KC suck so gotta at least win 2 of 3 each of those series or sweep one of them. Coors Field sometimes isn't easy to play in especially for a team who rarely visits, but the Rockies are awful. Winning the series against Baltimore would be a huge statement. Yankees won't be a pushover. Would be nice if guys like Judge and Cole are rested but we'll see. Overall, Jays control their own destiny. Their schedule in September is pretty favourable and as long as they play good baseball, they should be right there.
  25. I had no issue removing Ryu after 83 pitches in what was a blowout and given the Jays had an off day. Really was no point in stretching him close to 100 pitches in a blowout. As long as the Jays long and middle relievers sealed the deal without having to burn through high leverage guys, that's fine. I don't have an issue with pushing more from the starters given the in-game circumstances. For example in a close scoring game, would rather see the starter complete 6 innings especially if they're cruising. It's easier for the bullpen to finish off 3 innings instead of 4 innings, especially in a close matchup. If you pull your starter out after 5 innings, you're going to be forced to use guys lower on your BP depth charts to get outs and that sometimes could become an issue. I'm not worried about the Blue Jays high leverage guys - Romano, Hicks, Mayza, Swanson. Once a game reaches the 7th or 8th inning, you want those guys in the game to close it out. Obviously, I still think last years bullpen implosion against the Mariners in Game 2 is still fresh in the minds of many, including myself. Which is why we associate Schneider as a manager who always gives an early hook. For the most part, guys like Gausman, Bassitt and Berrios and even Kikuchi have been giving the Jays innings this season.
