  1. This is a good point. A lot of minor league ballparks all over Florida like in Dunedin, Fort Myers, Clearwater, Sarasota etc. Tickets are only like $10, cheap beer, drinks and concessions. I loved TD Ballpark in Dunedin. I went to two games when I was there. The ballpark is right in town, so you can walk if you're staying in Dunedin, or it's a short 15 min drive from Clearwater. More relaxing and enjoyable than driving 45 mins or more in traffic down to the Trop IMO.
  2. Not true at all. Miami has a huge Latin American population. The new Marlins ballpark isn't in the greatest area in terms of nightlife, restaurants, bars etc. I believe it's more in a residential area. If it was closer to downtown, maybe would be better. I think the issue with the Rays is the awful ballpark and location obviously. There is nothing wrong with St. Pete's at all. The waterfront and downtown are gorgeous.
  3. There are no light rail trains in the Tampa/Clearwater area. Have to mainly get around by driving. The Trop is pretty far from the downtown area of St. Pete's in terms of walking distance and it's a bit of a drive from downtown Tampa and Clearwater. A ballpark on the waterfront in St. Pete's would be amazing, but not sure there is room.
  4. The waterfront and downtown St. Petersburg are beautiful. The Trop is located outside of the downtown near the freeways and there isn't much around in terms of bars/restaurants other than a couple spots.
  5. What a series by the Jays! They definitely needed that after the Texas series! This team is going to have a tough time closing out close scoring games like 2-0, 2-1 etc. from the 5th inning on. A lot of pressure is put both on the rotation and bullpen. It's like they almost have to be perfect every time out. This lineup just needs to score 4 to 5 runs per game.
  6. Cost me $50 yesterday and had them in my main baseball parlays.

Bills up 21-10. Allen having an excellent passing game. When the guy runs the ball though, always gives me a heart attack. He holds the ball loosely, with one hand only and he always takes hits. Just get down when he's running to avoid a fumble or injury.
  8. Yeah you can't go with too many rookies, agreed. This team is trying to win a World Series in 2024. I think heading into 2024, you can't rely on Vladdy being his 2021 self. Need to get another elite player to pair with Bo. Vladdy is capable of returning to his 2021 levels and if he does, added bonus! The only 4 to 5 WAR player the Jays have a chance signing is Bellinger, but tying up a lot of money like 6 or 7 years at $25M+ is a lot. Jays will attach a QO on Chapman, but he'll likely not accept. If Chapman comes on a 1-year-deal pillow deal, great but he still likely gets a multi-year deal from someone since 3B is a weak market. Given the Jays offensive struggles this year, think moving on from Chapman isn't a bad thing. Don't really want a guy who hits .220/.330/.430 as one of your main middle-of-the-order bats. Teo is definitely possible IMO and would be a fantastic fit. Hope we see the Jays active though on the trade front.
  9. If going over the luxury tax is not an issue, then yeah $10M for Merrifield isn't a problem. Provides some depth at 2B and in the OF, some speed on the base paths. If an injury happens, he could step in and start over a couple of weeks which won't hurt you. Can't afford to be giving players like Espinal or Tapia ABs on a team with World Series aspirations. If the Jays are worried about going over the luxury tax, then I think that $10M is better utilized elsewhere on the roster. Teo likely gets a 2 year deal or something given his strong finish to the season. Teo would be nice, but this team still needs another elite player who can post 4-5 WAR. You can't rely on Vladdy to be that guy. Can't mess around in 2024.
  10. Trade for him this offseason. 3B problem solved!
  11. Yeah No. 1 priority is an elite bat who can produce 4-5 WAR or more. Can't rely on Vladdy to be that guy. Bellinger fits the bill but is going to cost a pretty penny and you have to hope he doesn't turn into a pumpkin again prior like he was in 2021 and 2022. Would trade for Juan Soto if you could get him without having to trade Vladdy. If you need to include Vladdy in a deal, would still do it. Can't mess around in 2024.
  12. If money isn't an issue, I would definitely bring Stroman in. Shores up the rotation even more in case Kikuchi or some other arms regress a bit. Teoscar is a no brainer as a corner OF bat. A lot of those guys available so Teo or Pederson would be great. Teo since he had success here and was liked in a clubhouse would be ideal though.

He said Allen is going to win MVP "you heard it here first." I said after last game's performance that he's too erratic and unpredictable, so he won't win. Spanky then asks me who I think will win MVP, which I don't think matters at all. All I said Allen won't win, I never said so and so is going to win over Allen. There is no point in doing a bet like that. If Spanky is so confident about Josh Allen winning MVP, he should put $100 on him on Bet365 or be comfortable making that bet with me.
  15. Still a lot of money and years to tie up to an aging player. Would rather the Jays use that money elsewhere on the roster. I'm fine with DS and using Biggio part-time at 2B next season or try to acquire an elite 2B. If money is no issue though, then fine bring him back on a 1-year deal for depth purposes.
  16. Yup exactly. Just get in and take it from there. Gotta love their chances in a short series with their pitching staff. Just need this lineup to score 4-5 runs per game.
  17. Anger? I'm pouring myself a scotch and smoking a cigar to celebrate! Will take it!
  18. The team is what they are at this point in the season. Borderline Playoff team. Frustrating to watch and a lot of stupid decisions. But just get in and see what they could do with the pitching they have.
  19. Blue Jays: win in Extras and two in a row!
  20. Lets hope the Astros, Mariners and Rangers lose!
  21. The Jays got lucky they ended up winning this one. A win is a win at the end of the day. But this team needs to really clean up things. So many stupid decisions on the basepaths.
  22. TSN during their highlights today on SportsCentre said the Jays made 51 or so outs on the bases as a team which leads the AL. Crazy how bad this team is at the fundamentals of base running.
  23. Haha was ugly but a win is a win. Take it!
  24. Geez should have tagged there. C'mon Vladdy! John Schneider's face was all red when they showed him haha
  25. He probably still gets 2/20 or 1/10 as a FA right now. But yeah with the emergence of Schneider, better to save that money and spend elsewhere on the roster.
