  1. I don't think a rebuild or full tear down is necessary to be honest. Would still give it another shot in 2024 and if things don't work, then would start trading off some assets like Bo, Gausman, Bassitt, Romano etc.
  2. Would hire Bautista as a hitting coach and have him work his way towards being a manager down the road. I think he would make a great manager. Even Russell Martin down the road as well.
  3. He still has it.
  4. He pretty much defended Atkins and this FO all season long and with the season almost coming to an end with possible disappointing results, of course he would be pist!
  5. Didn't Trudeau beg Taylor Swift on social media to include Canadian cities on her tour? I mean if the PM can do that, for sure he could lower taxes to attract MLB free agents to the Blue Jays. Its not out of the question haha.
  6. Have no problem with Chapman accepting the QO if he doesn't get a multi-year deal. He's still a valuable piece even if his bat isn't that great. Just don't rely on him as a No. 4, 5 or 6 bat in the lineup.
  7. Some players prefer signing in certain states as well that don't have a state income tax. Texas for example. In Canada, the USD goes further here but yeah the taxes are higher than in the States. Something some players consider for sure.
  8. If he doesn't choose one, you lock Ohtani in a room with Nickelback tracks on full blast. He'll pick one in a heartbeat after!
  9. Sign Ohtani to a monster contract and he will fix everything
  10. Wonder if Chapman will get a multi-year deal or sign a 1-year contract to build up value again given his struggles since April? If he's open to a 1-year, would reconsider re-signing him for sure. He probably lost out on a big $180-200M deal he was primed to get.
  11. I'm definitely on board with a lot of these things. I said before the Jays might need to shakeup their core and make tough decisions, but was blasted by some for it. Would love Joey Votto as a part-time DH/bench bat. Think he could still offer something. Donaldson as well at 3B who is vocal and would speak up in the dugout if he saw BS. Hitting well in a small sample size with the Brewers. Schneider and his coaching staff should be gone, outside from Pete Walker. Schneider has the appearance of an Alpha but is still a beta manager like Charlie. No fire whatsoever. As for Atkins, like you couldn't care if he's back or gone. Don't think everything should be blamed on him, but he does own some of what happened and when you look at the big picture since he's been here, he's made some great roster moves but unable to translate that into Postseason success. Keep him on a short leash in 2024. If the team gets off to a bad start again, he should be gone.
  12. He needs to finish the 100 level infield club still.
  13. Just some bad luck against teams like Baltimore and Boston. If the Jays were .500 against those team, they're sitting in a WC spot comfortably. Just a lot of bad luck that even the projections got wrong. If the Jays had better luck on their side, we wouldn't even be having this conversation. It's crazy how baseball works.
  14. Did a Rays and Eagles parlay, so at least I ended up breaking even after my Jays bets.
  15. Yeah I thought at home with Gausman on the mound and Eovaldi not 100% yet, Jays would avoid the sweep at home. The team I never bet against is Atlanta. When you get good odds on them like a 1.70 or 1.80 against a good team, take them. Won $100 the other day betting ATL win and Strider for 7 K's.
  16. A lot of fans were cheering through the downs for most of the year. Since the season is winding down, it's panic and frustration!
  17. I'm sure if you walk around the Danforth.
  18. I took it for a test drive. Electric vehicles suck. Purchased a regular 2024 Mustang instead, which is a real sports car. Hoping I could get it next month.
  19. Never betting the Jays again. If I bet the Rangers tonight, Jays would be winning!
  20. I bring up AA because he doesn't get enough respect on here I find, but some posters like Brownie, Max & others are pretty homerish on Atkins and this FO when the results so far haven't been any better. That's their opinion though, so nothing against them even if we disagree. Good and fun to debate with them. At the end of the day, we all want the Jays to go on a deep Postseason run and win the World Series. If Atkins can bring that home here, I'll be more than happy and give him the credit/praise he deserves!
  21. Merrifield with the bat hasn't been that great lately.
  22. Meh his bat has really cooled down and defensively he's nothing special. Still has had a solid year for the Jays. Not sure I would want to bring him back at $12M per season with the emergence of Schneider now.
