  1. Yankees lineup if they sign Ohtani and trade for Arenado or Machado 2B Torres RF Judge DH Ohtani 3B Arenado/Machado 1B Rizzo LF Stanton CF Domínguez SS Volpe C Trevino/Higashioka 1B/2B/3B/DH LeMahieu
  2. Yeah I don't see the Yankees rebuilding. Maybe they fire Boone and bring in a new manager. They will spend money this offseason and plan to compete again in 2024. I bet the Yankees will go hard after Ohtani and likely will trade for Arenado or Machado. The Yankees are the team that could worry me the most next season.
  3. Looks like Masterbather has taken over for me. Brownie and Max now have a new target.

Dolphins beat the Broncos 70-20 lmao Broncos are the worst and most overrated team. Russell Wilson is done.
  5. One of the best pitchers in the game! If you get the chance to watch Kershaw live, definitely don't pass up on the opportunity. All-time greats like him don't come around that often.
  6. If you have the roster space, worth taking a flier.
  7. Whose call do you think it was to leave Romano in? JS or from above? For a team that relies so heavily on analytics and with a brilliant front office/analytics team that knows everything, you think they would have preferred having Mayza face Lowe in that situation.
  8. Yeah decided to drop Conforto instead. Like you said, Stanton could have a season where he stays healthy and blasts 35 HR's anytime, whereas Conforto has limited upside and now looks like a platoon bat.
  9. Have a safe flight mate! Enjoy some Beau's on the plane!
  10. Lmao Pirates came back to beat the Reds 13-12.
  11. Yeah I agree, this Jays team isn't an elite team by any stretch of the imagination. They are what their record says they are right now - a borderline Wildcard/playoff team. If they get into the Postseason, they could definitely make some noise, get hot and go on a run. They have an impressive rotation and the bullpen is still very solid and deep, if used properly. Right now the goal is just to get in and go from there. 2021 was definitely the best window IMO. It's unfortunate they never were able to take advantage of that opportunity. A lot of blame could be placed on Atkins and the FO for not addressing the issues in the pen earlier.
  12. Needed to get a starting bat into my lineup tonight, and Conforto on the bench again against a lefty and Yankees game rained out. Don't think it will make a difference since Bailey Falter just ruined all my pitching numbers.
  13. Lmao he had a stretch of 26 consecutive saves before today's game.
  14. It's the fault of the players for under performing. Then some blame can be placed on the coaching staff and some can be placed on the GM/front office for putting this team together. Sure having a Felix Bautista would help in the Postseason, but is there any realistic chance the Jays could have added an arm like him at the deadline?
  15. Yeah the offense has been horse s*** this season. You don't build a team from the bullpen up. You build a team starting with positional players and starting pitchers. Bullpen arms are the final pieces. When you have a World Series contending team, then you can go all out to make BP upgrades. But even then, it's not a guarantee. So far the lineup has been the huge disappointment. Even if the Jays had guys like Bautista, Diaz, Williams all in their bullpen this season, they likely aren't in the lead for the division or WC lol.
  16. Even if Mariano Rivera was the Jays closer this season, they probably just have another win or two. They still would be behind the Rays for the top WC spot and Baltimore for the division. There is nothing wrong with Romano as the closer.
  17. The issue with the Jays this season has been the lineup. Even if you had a Felix Bautista as a closer, doubt the Jays are leading the AL East or WC.
  18. I don't think anyone was. Maybe Trevor Hoffman and Billy Wagner came close. Jansen in his glory days with the Dodgers put together a stretch of really solid years. Kimbrel when he was with Atlanta. Can't think of anyone else really over the last 2-3 decades. Guys like Eric Gagne and Brad Lidge had amazing standout seasons where they were just spectacular, but they weren't consistent over a long period.
  19. Yeah he's not a top 3 or 5 closer in baseball. Only those guys would be considered elite really and there aren't many. There are some elite relievers as well who aren't closers since they haven't been given the opportunity yet as well. Romano has shown he's capable of handling the closers role over the last 3 seasons, so he's definitely better than Swanson and Mayza when it comes to that regard. Some pitchers can't handle the ninth inning, no matter how good their stuff is. Did the Astros have an elite closer last season when they won the World Series? Romano had a higher WAR and more saves than Ryan Pressly did last season. Romano isn't an issue at all and isn't going to hold the Jays back from winning a World Series.
  20. Sure, some other closers I would rank ahead of Romano: Bautista Williams Clase Hader Bednar Munoz Alexis Diaz Edwin Diaz (when healthy) Liam Hendriks (when healthy) Would still consider Romano a Top 10 closer in the game. Even with that list, couldn't list 10 closers I would prefer ahead of him. Romano has been very good and consistent as a closer. He's perfectly fine!
  21. Lol you just said he's a 3-3.5 ERA caliber pitcher. His ERA hasn't even been close to that the past three seasons. I agree he's not one of the top elite closers in the game, but he's still very good and consistent. He gets the job done majority of the time. He's going to blow the odd save here or there, but I have no problem with him as the Jays closer.
  22. Romano's ERA is 2.68 this season.
  23. The right move was probably to bring in Mayza to face Lowe or walk Lowe to have Romano face Margot. Regardless if Schneider brought in Mayza and he blew it, I bet some of the trolls would be complaining "why didn't Schneider leave Romano in!" haha.
  24. I think he's become one of my new favourite pitchers in baseball from a likability perspective. Such a character!
  25. Nice inning from Yimi Garcia! As well, what a diving catch by Merrifield! That catch was huge!
