Thought about it earlier this week, but Atlanta makes a lot of sense for Ohtani if he wanted to sign there.
Braves have all their core players locked up to team friendly contracts over the next 8-10 years. They likely could afford Ohtani and don't have to worry about spending on other players to build around him. Financially he won't strap the team since they already have Acuna, Olsen, Riley, Albies, Harris, Strider etc. all locked up to team friendly extensions. Atlanta is a great baseball town and the new ballpark district they've built is amazing and first class. As well, they don't need Ohtani to pitch until 2025 and he would slide right into their rotation since Fried is a FA anyways and will need to be replaced. If Ohtani is concerned about winning, Braves likely to be perennial contenders for the next decade. As well, AA has always been willing to make upgrades and additions to the clubs he's been with, so he has shown a dedication to putting the best team on the field whenever possible.
