  1. I hate Yahoo. Can we move this league to Fantrax?
  2. What did I fail? And why am I considered an Orioles fanboy? For stating in some baseball discussion how they have a solid young team? Geez you can't even say anything positive about any of the 29 other MLB teams in this league or else you get bombarded by posters on here. Like heck even saying anything positive about the Royals or Tigers you get responses saying "their lineup sucks though" or "the Jays even have a better team" etc. Also, I'm happy the Royals won like I said earlier. Would collect $1200 if they win the World Series after making a $10 bet back in March. Only buying beers for Term if that happens. Leaving you out!
  3. Eduardo Rodriguez got 4 years/$80M last offseason. Sonny Gray got 3 years/$75M. Fried is better than E-Rod and is also younger than Gray. When Fried is healthy, he looks capable of providing anywhere from a 3 to 5 WAR season. Probably can expect more of 3ish WAR seasons. In 2023, he only made 14 starts, so that's the only blip on the radar in terms of injury concerns, though he did come back strong in 2024 which was encouraging. I think max years he gets is around 5 or 6. He likely gets higher AAV than E-Rod and something similar to Gray. Could see him signing a 5 year deal between $125-150M. We'll see how the market plays out. Like who would have thought Snell would only get a 2 year deal with an opt out last offseason haha.
  4. Don't think anyone said that on here haha. But yeah just stating some good things about the Orioles club during the season when having a general baseball discussion automatically makes you a fanboy for some reason. I recall the Rays love on this board was far way more cringe a couple years ago. Guys on here were kissing the floor their front office walked on.
  5. The nerds definitely have been ripping on Preller for a long time. He has weathered the storm down in San Diego despite some questionable moves, but things have been paying off this season. Imagine if they still had Blake Snell damn haha.
  6. Yeah I don't think anyone on here thinks the Royals lineup is close to being on-par with the Yankees, but we've seen plenty of times in a short series where big bats go cold. Royals still have Bobby Witt Jr. and they just got Vinnie Pasquantino back. Salvador Perez is still going strong. They have some guys like Michael Massey who looks interesting, and someone like Hunter Renfroe or Paul DeJong can get hot over a short series haha.
  7. She still going strong in Milwaukee!
  8. I like the Mets better tonight based on their pitching matchup, but rooting for the Brewers to tie things up!
  9. 3 of the 4 remaining teams in the AL from the AL Central.
  10. Yeah probably will get good odds on the Royals as well. Definitely think they could upset the Yankees.
  11. Hope we do see some Game 3's tomorrow. Hope the Brewers and Braves could tie up the series!
  12. Lets go Royals!
  13. Go Tigers!
  14. You need a bit of a balance. Can't just rely on a lineup of all low K% guys and slap hitters. Need some guys with some pop, even if they have a bit higher K rates. Like against an ace pitcher, if you have a lineup full of contact guys, you still need three singles to score a run. Do you expect to get three singles in a row against an ace type of pitcher? Most of the time when an ace pitcher allows runs, it on a mistake that heads to the seats. Unless they are off where they give up a string of hits and walks etc.
  15. Would like to see the Brewers advance as well, but I have a feeling MLB wants the Mets to go through since they're a big market. Was reading online how during the regular season the Brewers control and make the decision to open/close the roof, however MLB during the Postseason makes the call. Yesterday afternoon was a beautiful day in Milwaukee and the roof was closed.
  16. Kate Upton definitely would be a plus haha. I'd be okay with rolling the dice on him or Max for a one-year deal around that same AAV as you said. Could work out or could backfire, but if he struggles, don't want to see him making 25-30 starts with a 5+ ERA. Just would hope it doesn't tie down the Jays from making other moves. If the money is there and Jays don't care about going over the luxury tax, worth the gamble. If signing Verlander prevents the Jays from signing other guys, then meh not too crazy about it.
  17. We going to the Crocodile Rock Bar after the game to pick up some MILFs as well.
  18. Yeah if the money was there to sign Ohtani, go hard after Soto and try to re-sign Vlad. That middle-of-the-order would be one of the best, if not best in baseball. Signing Soto also likely makes it easier to re-sign Vladdy or you can convince Soto that you're going to re-sign Vladdy after as well. Regardless, would love to see it if the money is there!
  19. Dude is winning the CY Young this season in the NL but alright.
  20. Smith Swahhahaha something blah blah blah.
  21. Lmao I actually want the Royals to win. Have $1200 on the line if they win the World Series from making a $10 bet back in March haha. If the Royals end up winning the World Series, next time you're in Toronto beers on me!
  22. This coming from the guy who flip flops on pretty much everything lol.
  23. Jays have nothing to lose. Sign Soto and extend Vlad, and your middle-of-the-order is set for the next decade.
  24. I think his agent tries to get close to Soto money once he signs. Vladdy likely would be on board as well. I said this even a couple months ago that Vladdy doesn't even consider an extension until Soto signs. I even said it would be in the Jays best interest to re-sign Vladdy before Soto signs his crazy deal. Vladdy pretty much will be the top FA of the 2026 class. If he has another monster season in 2025, he likely could get close to Soto money if a team is desperate. But yeah, prefer the Devers contract as a comparable.
  25. Not sure Verlander would want to sign in Toronto. Also, he looked completely toast this season. Like BTS said, he could very well get nuked every start kind of like Wainwright in his last season. Mad Max wouldn't be a bad target. He actually pitched decently in his 9 starts with the Rangers. But yeah think he prefers to re-sign with the Rangers. Not sure he would come to Toronto.
